Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

It's probably a good time to look over the list and divide up into tables according to seating time. If you've gotten friendly with some people on the list through the forum, message them and exchange your reservation numbers so that you can contact one of your travel agents or Disney to link your dining.

In looking at the spreadsheet, I realize I should have added a column for Disboards IDs so that it would make it possible to figure out who's who on the list. I just went and did that, so everyone who put their names on the list for shared dining should go and add their ID beside their names. Sorry about that.

Anyone else who's interested in sharing tables for dining on the cruise is welcome to send me a private message and I'll give you the link to the Google spreadsheet.

While I set up the spreadsheet, I don't want to be responsible for randomly seating people with others. If I chose wrong, my name would be MUD. It will be much better all the way around if people make their own choices as to what size table they want and who they'd like to share it with.

The wedding was really pretty. We kinda' lucked out with weather. It was scheduled to rain all day. Then at 3:55 the sky broke, sun! Wedding started at 4pm, perfectly on time. And even almost a week later people are messaging me about how awesome my speech was. Yay!

Welcome new people!!!

Last night we crafted at my house FE gifts. Yay! I posted it on facebook because it was a glitter explosion on my kitchen table.

Happy Canada Day, belated! Yay fries with brown gravy and cheese curds!

Just wanted to introduce myself (Andrew). My wife (Rene) is Purduemouse. We booked this cruise just over a month ago, unlike most of you. However, in that time we have done LOTS of planning and even received our passports already.

My question to pose to the group is this. What is everybody planning to do while in each of the ports? Are any of you planning on going to Mr. Sancho's in Cozumel? We have put a deposit down on the romantic package for two.

Also, when, if ever, are you able to book/schedule onboard activities other than Palo's or the spa (eg - wine / booze / chocolate tastings, etc.)? They didn't have the website last time we cruised, 13 years ago. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, then. This time we get to do it without the kids, and have the honeymoon we never did!

:welcome: :welcome: welcome: Andrew and Rene!!

We are sightseeing in Cartagena, snuba in Cozumel, Salsa dancing somewhere and another sightseeing in the last port. SOrry, mind is a little gone right now. I'm taking a break from work... shhhh;)

so funny, I didn't think of that....our younger daughter turns 3 on the 20th, and our big girl will be starting kindergarten at the end of the summer. We are so excited to meet some other families as we are quite a social little group. Where are you guys from?

Hi "other family with small kids!"
We have a 4 y/o son (will be 5 in Dec.) and our daughter turns 3 on Sept 10. This is our first Disney cruise, and the first cruise ever for the kids. We're really setting their expectations high, lol. But it's our only opportunity to do something this fantastic as a family before the little guy starts kindergarten next fall. So here we go! Looking forward to meeting you!
Cheryl
ok so my last message was for cherlyleen. I'm painfully new at this

Aww troll boggies I thought you were going to do all the hard stuff. If anyone on the list wants to hook up dining the cruise just let me know and I'll give you whatever info you need to make it happen :cool1:

:welcome: Andrew. Happy you've joined the group and how exciting to finally be getting to take your honeymoon. As for myself and Momma Beth we are swimming with the dolphins in Cabo, historic town and tequila making in Puerto V, best of Cartagena with folkloric show and the Mayan ruins in Cozomel. :yay:

:)
We live in north Orange County, just about 15 minutes from Disneyland. What about you? The kids will be excited to have playmates at the club!

Once you've filled your table with as many people as you wish, it might be a good idea to take your names off the list so that others will know who's still looking to fill a table.

If anyone else is still interested in adding their names to the Google spreadsheet, feel free to contact me for the url of the document. I would think the choices should be made asap so that the table assignments can be made at DCL. I don't know how close to sailing the requests can be made to guarantee they'll be honored by DCL. Time is getting short until we sail :)

The plan for our group is:
Cabo we're going to putz around town and get sushi at this interesting sushi place near the pier (it was featured in "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives."). Then in PV we're going to Paradise Beach Village Resort- with the cruise company, Cartegena we're doing a tour (I think we're doing the Best of.... or the shopping one). In Cozumel, there's a plaza right off the pier (about a half mile) so we're going for chips/salsa/margaritas and then there's a chocolatier near there. Generally our plans is we want to bring back coffee and chocolate back for our co-workers.

I cannot open the Linked Dining on page 1; anyone else having trouble? If I could open it, I could try to find or figure out some sort of group seating. First, I need to open it!
On a cruise I went on with my sister, there was a large group who sat near us - maybe 40 people. They were assigned several tables, with the same wait staff, and on different nights they moved seats/tables just amongst their own group to mix and mingle. Would people be ok with that? Again, someone who can open the document would need to try to arrange this. If I can get into it, I will do it.

Just sent you a pm with the url.

I don't know how confusing the mixing and mingling would be, but would probably have to be done after the fact, depending on how the dining staff felt about it.

We did "anytime dining" on our Princess cruises. That was great, since we chose to eat with people we met, or to take a random seating each time we went to the dining rooms.... or we could eat at the buffet and not feel we were deserting our tablemates.

Someone asked whether they had the new "magic" wrist bands on the Wonder, so I asked DCL (and of course, now I can't find the post, and don't remember the OP), and got the following answer:

Yes, we do have the new yellow Oceaneer Club and Lab bands onboard the Disney Wonder.

Hope this helps!:flower3:

After consulting with DCL, I have the following up-date for those interested in 7:30 am yoga on selected sea mornings (day numbers 2, 5, 7, 11, and 14):

There are a total of 8 yoga mats onboard the Wonder, and they are reserved only for yoga classes. We will not be allowed to use them.

However, that doesn't mean people will have to bring their own mats from home. I realize that packing space will be at a premium for a 14 day cruise. (Although how much do we need beyond a bathing suit? :goodvibes)

Deck 7 is a wooden deck, so if I can't find room for my mat in my luggage, I'm going to pick up three towels from the pool area: one to lie on, one for cushioning, and one to pat any stray perspiration off my fevered brow. :rolleyes2

I think we should plan to meet at deck 7 aft as this is more private, sheltered, and, frankly, a more serene location. We had wonderful experiences doing yoga on the 2010 WBTA cruise there. If there's not enough room, we'll move up to the basketball court at 10 forward.

If you have any questions, comments, or thoughts, post them here, or send me a PM.

Namaste! :flower3:
Richard

I have the list of those who would like to dine together. If you have previously signed up, please add your DisBoard name to that list and then PM your cabin #, reservation # and any other info you deem relevant that is not on that list! The sooner the better so that I can contact DCL and try to coordinate!
