Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Off topic here - but yesterday I had to go out and mow the yard. Been putting it off for a couple of weeks now. I guess what......................I got SUN BURNED!!! Oh well, got a jump start on my tan for the year. I now expect to see next door neighbor man out there today with his ruler to see if his grass is taller then mine. He was gone all day yesterday, and didn't see me mowing. Yes, he literally takes a ruler and measures our grass and if his is over a 1/4" taller, out comes the lawn mower to cut the grass!!!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Ok - just gloat why don't you...jeesh...we are expecting MORE SNOW this week. It was warm over the weekend - we had a lot of the mountains melt down, but most roads are still impassable since the towns here refuse to plow. Makes it LOTS of fun to get to folks who need us with our big old truck!

Sh.... Last night as I was walking to my car, I fell on ice and straight on my tushy. Yeah, admit it... you want to live in Washington...
yea, we do actually! Hope you weren't hurt Kim.

Hi Everyone! So excited for our first cruise, it can't get here fast enough. Just curious if anyone with kids has signed up for the meet and greet and other gatherings, would hate to burden everyone with little ones :-)
Welcome aboard! Your little ones are going to love the kids clubs, we hear all the time that kids don't want to leave them!

Im new here. This is our second cruise. We are going as a family with 3 kids. Will there be a lot of kids? or few because of length and date?
Welcome aboard!! I figure there will be fewer kids, since this cruise is during the school year - this means - more time and events available for yours in the clubs!

And MAYBE the adults can take over the kids clubs on this cruise!!! WOO HOO - we love painting cells and making flubber (then the fight...well too funny since it always seems to happen on formal night!!)

anyone who wants to join the FB page - please PM me your email address that is attached to your FB account. The FB page is a closed group and can not be located by searching. This was done to provide us with some privacy (on the internet???? LOL!)

there are many folks over there and it is pretty active as well. For those with friends and family cruising that are not on the Dis - just get me their email addresses, I will gladly add them.

I am only adding people via the Dis. This is because there was some strife on the EBTA FB page that caused some frustrations for folks and I would like to keep that from happening.

Thank you for your help - see you onboard!

Cayla

it wont let me message you because I have less than 10 posts

I am fine. The snow was soft. I have a bruise on my tushy... But now you guys know why I am so "I always keep a first aide kit within arm distance..." At Great Wolf Lodge I fell out of the raft on the "Howling Tornado" and the raft went over my legs, not some bruises. Queen of the clumsy!

Move to Washington. It's the best state.

I want to paint cells and play with flubber.

Old Navy has a sale on some cute shirts for the cruise.

Sorry to hear you fell Kim. Glad to hear it wasn't anything serious.

Aaahhhhhhhhhhhh, no actually I'm happy living in Florida. I like the sun, Great location to Disney World, the beaches, and of course the ports for CRUISING!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

:welcome::welcome:MichiganMickeyLove. This cruise is going to be amazing. I love being able to get to know new people before we sail. It makes the cruise so much more personal. I agree with the others that said your kids will love the clubs. When I took my daughter on the Wonder and Magic I couldn't get her OUT of the kids club, she had such a good time there.

You folks who live in warm climates are just being MEAN :sad2:. It was nice (meaning no coat needed) over this past weekend but we're gearing up for more bad weather tonight and later in the week. I am soooo over winter and ready for spring.

Sorry to hear about your bruised bum Kim. Sending pixie dust your way pixiedust: in hopes you have no other "accidents" between now and September. Only 199 more days until we sail :cheer2:. Only 197 days until we fly out :cheer2:

Wow... A lot of activity on this thread, I really have to catch up:coffee:

We board the Wonder tomorrow for a short cruise, but nothing as exciting as this one in September! We have our favourite waiter and favourite table, so it should be fun.:cheer2: It feels like it's been one storm after another in MA, at least it's warm down here!

Glad to read there are other kids. Our girls will be 9&10, but definitely a 'young' 9&10. They are so excited to see old friends and meet new ones:) It looks like I'll be well enough to go...yaypixiedust:

I'll do a better job keeping up with the thread, hope everyone is having a great week:thumbsup2

198 days 'til embarkation

so super excited :yay:  :cool1: I was able to change our post cruise reservations with DVC!!! We were able to get reservations at the Grand Floridian Villas!!! Don't get me wrong, I love Old Key West resort, but we wanted to stay someplace different and special since this vacation is in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary! :cloud9::hug::love2:

Congrats!! We were able to get VWL...so we are also very happy. Congrats on 25 years! This cruise is part 6 of our honeymoon...we have a lot of time before we are anywhere near your many years!

Howdy everyone! Just checking in on the boards ... hi to all the new people.

I assume some cruisers have been on this route before. Tell me about a must-do thing in Cartagena... our family is so excited to visit there. Doesn't have to be touristy - - -

Happy hump day!

ATTENTION- Disneyland area to San Diego prospective 'car-poolers.'
I have been searching and reviewing car rentals and shuttle services and other options. I haven't been thrilled with what I have found- until now. On the carpool list, we only have one volunteer driver - or volunteered driver- my spouse and we have 14 people plus luggage. Even the largest , non- commercial , passenger can cannot fit all of us.
LIGHTBULB!!!!
AMTRAK!!! All trains after 9:00 am take checked luggage as long as you check in 45 minutes prior to departure. The 9:08 train arrives 11:20. Here is the best- Business Class reserved seats FOR 2 is only $84.00! You can also get an unreserved coach seat for $56.00. Personally, I'd like to know that I definitely have a seat. The cost is comparable to the per person cost of a car rental, although we will need to make our own way to /from the stations. I am loving this idea.
THOUGHTS?
Thanks Kim- it was the Amtrak add on the FB Buzzfeed post that got me looking!

PRE-CRUISE DISNEYLAND VISITORS~
Anyone interested in meeting for a meal or drink at DL on the 10th or 11th? Any ideas on good meet-up places?

WELCOME! I will say that you are certainly adventurous by taking a 14 night cruise first time out!
Suggestion: check out the Cruise Critic Boards for lots of good first-timer info. Feel free to ask here as well and check page 1 for sign-ups, info, etc. Lots of tips and tricks added throughout these many pages as well.
There are several families traveling with kids and many of us who are 'young' or young at heart empty-nesters.

VWL ? All the initials and acronyms confuse me! I think it's early onset dementia... : (

Maria, Donna and I would be interested in meeting for a meal or drink at DL on either date. We've never been to Disneyland so we are open to any suggestions anyone has for a nice place to meet. :thumbsup2
