Wonderful DVC Presentation(s)

After reading some negative experiences with DVC presentations recently, I felt it necessary to share our very positive experience. Backstory, we previously owned AKV. When our 2 daughters reached high school age and were each playing travel softball all over and every weekend, we decided best to sell. We couldn't use the points at the time and it became more trouble than what we wanted to deal with. Big mistake of course, but it was our decision at the time. Fast-forward to this week. I wanted to check things out again, so I called and scheduled a tour at CC. My wife and 2 daughters all agreed to go to the tour (3 free fast-passes will do that).

Last week we stayed off-property for the 3rd time in a row since selling. We had stayed at the Marriott Grand Vista twice (we really liked), but had to stay somewhere else this time. I won't name the property as to not offend anyone. We have stayed in 2-bedrooms each of these times. There is absolutely no way we can purchase enough points to stay in a 2-bedroom or most likely 1-bedroom at Disney resorts. After becoming used to DVC resorts in the past, nothing for our family can compare. The whole family would choose a DVC studio over a 2-bedroom somewhere else (Disney lovers).

Our family met our DVC rep last Sunday at CC. Saw everything, talked, asked questions and had a very nice time. Received 3 fast-passes each and a $50 gift card that I was not promised. I explained that we wanted to see BLT, VGF, PVB and drive to RR before making any decisions. DVC rep offered to have us driven to BLT and we could take to monorail to check everything out from there. We looked at BLT, VGF, PVB and took the bus to Disney Springs for supper. Then took the bus back to Wilderness to get our car and drove over to RR to see it. Absolutely no pressure to buy anything. Exactly what we expected from DVC. GREAT DAY!!! BTW, wife was ready to purchase right then and there and DVC rep did not pressure.

After deliberation, I emailed DVC rep on Monday from HS and asked to meet him on Tuesday at SSR to see the RR model and check out SSR. He met us and showed us what we wanted. We decided to purchase a small SSR contract. DVC rep was excited for us and NEVER pushed us to purchase at all, purchase more points or points at RR (or anywhere else). He knew that I had some knowledge due to being previous owners and even steered us towards SSR, because of the value.

So, we got what we wanted and never experienced anything other than what we expected from DVC. It was exactly the same standard of excellence that we experienced 12 years ago when we originally purchased AKV. Plus, DVC rep gave us 3 more fast-passes each (even though daughters were not present), that we used on Wednesday at MK (9 fast-passes = Good Day).
