I was looking around the Disneyland website's section for "Guests with Disabilities" and I discovered something I had not seen before. There are videos, about a dozen of them, which show different accessible features of rides and attractions. These, of course, are not the only options, but it does give an idea of what to expect and some of the most popular, and some of the most difficult transfers. Here is a list of the attractions featured in the videos.

Red Car
Luigi's Flying Tires
Star Tours
Little Mermaid
Grizzly River Run (transfer seat)
Toy Story Mania (two different videos)
Space Mountain (transfer seat)
Splash Mountain (w and w/o transfer seat)
BTMRR
Buzz Lightyear
California Screamin
It's a Small World
Soarin' over California

Just go to this link: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/plan/guest-services/mobility-disabilities/
At the bottom of the large photo slideshow at the top of the page, you will see a button that says "video." Click that, and you will see all the awesome videos to choose from.

There are also videos to choose from on the Hearing Disabilities and Visual Disabilities sections.

Here is the Hearing Disabilities link, with videos featuring the amazing interpreter (and my friend) Gilberto.

And here is the Visual Disabilities link - if you click on the video option, it will give an example of the audio description of areas and attractions.

I am not sure if Disney World has the same thing on its page, but I wanted to share this, as it really does show some very helpful things that even I did not know existed to help.

Wow! Those are great!

I wonder if they have the transfer seat and wide opening at the Teacups in WDW?

They didn't show it but they also have a transfer assist bench at Space Mountain.

Thanks for the heads up.
I will add it to the disABILITIES FAQs section about Disneyland.

I am using my iPad and the slide show won't work for me (it used to). The video link also doesn't show up. I'll have to try it on my laptop tomorrow.

I can't do it with my iPad either.

I think it is probably Flash, which iPads don't play.

I'll be working on my laptop tomorrow, so will try it out then.

I verified by playing them on my laptop that both the slide show and videos use Flash, so thy are not accessible to people using iPads, iPods or iPhones.
I also checked and there is no way I can see to make a link directly to the videos. They are very nice though!

The guy in the photo (not video) is my friend Mark. He is awesome. I
d love to Gilberto. Mark has ben trying to get me to come visit Disneyland.

Gilberto is awesome. Actually all the interpreters are. In fact, many of them also travel out to the Cruise line. They have added even more shows to be interpreted at DL so now it stands at:

Jedi Training Academy
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Fantasy Faire Royal Theatre (both Tangled and Beauty and the Beast)
Jungle Cruise
Billy Hill and the Hillbillies
Mickey and the Magical Map (absolutely fantastic)
Soundsational Parade

In DCA there is less, but we are encouraging them to add more, like the parade and the Army Men
Turtle Talk with Crush
Red Car News Boys
Aladdin Show
Minnie's Fly Girls

The interpretation is great - the only one where it is difficult to see the interpreters from the wheelchair spot is Aladdin (you are several rows higher than they are) but you CAN see them - I have done it. I also have parked my chair in the spot and walked (with assistance from my wife) down the 4 rows or so, so that I can sit closer. But on days I cannot do this, I hang where I am.

The interpreting really is awesome here. They are very inclusive, and encourage students of ASL to watch as well (just as long as those who require the interpreters are in front, of course).
