WonderCon crowds

Has anyone been at the parks during WonderCon weekend? I know it's not as huge as SDCC, but just wondering if it affects crowds. (And, yes, I know, every weekend is crowded.) Or do they tend to just add an extra day or two before/after the Con to do their Disney-going?

I keep flip-flopping between that weekend or the weekend before for my F&W trip.

With reservations things are a little different. During the day it would be quiet and evenings used to pick up after the floor closes at 6pm with passholders going for dinner (what we used to do). As a MK holder I’m now reluctant to make a reservation and chance a no show in case we’re too tired. I’m sure others think the same. I would expect DTD to be a more crowded in the evenings that Thurs-Sunday

Most con goers I talked to that weren’t passholders would extend their stay to a week before or after. I’m guessing the following week during the week will be more crowded. But availability is wide open so who knows…

Usually conventions don't have a huge effect on crowds in the parks. The effects are usually felt outside the parks with DTD being busier and hotel availability going quicker and rates being higher.

Thanks to the both of you! I know I've never been down there during that particular convention so just wasn't sure.

Luckily, I already have a hotel booked for that weekend, but it's out in Buena Park/Cypress and I have a Hilton discount (plus free parking with my MK, so I can drive to the parks), and I don't have to deal with the bonkers hotel prices in the resort area!
