We are booked on the Wonder March 2nd, 2016 my TA just called me and told me that I could get the Magic on the 29th of Feb for 800 more for the 4 of us. We are 4 adults and 4 kids. I like the fact that Magic is out of Port Canaveral, that way we can do a pit stop in MK. I was just wondering is the magic worth the 800.00? From what I have seen, there a re af ew add ons that the wonder does not have. I am overwhelmed I have been researching and planning a wonder trip and now it might be changing. I do love the marvel area for my boys. SO tell me disney fans what would you do?

$800 more for how many of you? You say it's for 4, but then say there 4 adults and 4 kids. How long are the cruises you're comparing? Same category room?

The price is for the 4 of us in our cabin. They are both a 4 day cruise. Same category!

So you're thinking of changing just one room?

IMO, I'd stick with the Wonder. You can do lots of things with that $800 (excursions, photos, spa time, for example)

Not sure why you would want to pay $800 more for the same 4 nights unless its different ports they visit. Like PP said you can do a lot with $800 for excursions etc. Or you could switch it totally and go on the 3-night Feb 25th :-P thats when DH and I are going. Then you would start out at the port you want and be able to visit MK and not pay plus $800 more :-D

I have been on the Wonder last year and the Magic this year. And for the same number of nights, I would not pay more for the Magic. The staterooms have been updated on the Wonder recently as well to the same standard as what the Magic has.

This is why I am asking, I have heard that the magic has a few more things the kids would like. But from what I am hearing it is not worth the 800 dollar difference.

:confused3 The Magic does not sail on the 29th, she is listed to go out on the 28th to Castaway Cay, Nassau and sea day and home. The Wonder stops at CC, Nassau and Key West. Kids are age for enjoying Key West ? I love the Truman Whitehouse, Original Key Lime pie, walking around the town with its sites, others do not like that. Sea day has plenty of kids club activities. How much time are you going to be on the ship ? Happy Sailing :boat:

The Magic has the Aquadunk and revamped kids clubs. If this is super important to you, it may be worth 800$.

Also by then, Tangled the Musical will be on the Magic.

Those may explain the up charge.

Do what most appeals to you- it's your vacation!

Edited for clarification

I believe that the difference is that the Magic would be out of PC whereas the Wonder is out of Miami.

We did a Western on the Magic in March and the DVC Member Cruise in May on the Wonder. All things being equal, we would pick the Magic, we had the best service of any cruise we've ever been on. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to sail the Wonder again either. The biggest differences are in the buffet, the slides, and the Studio Sea/D Lounge area.

Also, PC is drivable for us whereas Miami would be tough. Not sure if that would impact you or not. Either way, you'll have a great cruise!

I have two boys so I understand the appeal of the Magic with the Avengers over the Wonder, and why you are asking. But for such a short cruise I don't think I would pay the extra money. You will have a lot to see and doin those four days...save that money for the next cruise, IMHO.

The Dream is sailing from Port Canaveral on Feb 29 for a 4 night Bahamas cruise. Possibly you have the ship wrong and not the date. Make sure you know what you are comparing.

Good Catch! The Magic is actually going out the 28th, not the 29th. You are correct, that one is the Dream. I checked prices and the Magic is priced virtually identical to the Wonder. With that being the case, I would whole-heartedly recommend the Magic to the OP...

All prices being equal, AND the choice to go out of PC versus Miami, I'd go on the Magic hands down. I love her.

Sorry I made a mistake with the date. It is the 28th out of PC. We ended up switching to Magic. It just worked best for us, we wanted to visit the parks as well. We alson wanted the aqua duck, new shows, avengers and location. It is out first sailing on a DCL so I went with my gut and ended up paying a few hundred more. I know we would have loved the wonder as well but my boys kept asking for all the other items that were not on her. We bite the bullet and are happy with it. Thank you so much for everyones opinion. I hope to get a chance and sale all of the DCL ships.

Just to clarify, the Magic has the Aqua Dunk, not the Aqua Duck. Big difference. Not sure your kids' ages, but they may be too small for the Aqua Dunk.
