Embarkation
Wow, what a great trip. The weather was perfect, the seas were calm and we were on a DCL ship. Our trip started on Saturday with a flight to Orlando. Our party consist of Myself and My wife both 41, our 19 year old son and his 19 year old girlfriend who had never been on a cruise or out of the country, our 14 year old son, 13 year old daughter and 10 year old daughter.
OK I know we have way to much luggage.
Calm easy flight from the Hoosier Heartland via Atlanta to Orlanda. We always stay in Orlando the night before. This trip we stayed at Embasey suites. They had a suite with two beds, a pullout and a cot. All for around $110. At the airport we collected our bags and called the hotel. Within 15 minutes the shuttle was at the airport to take us to the hotel. We walked to Tony Rommas for Dinner and then returned to get some sleep.
The next morning we woke up had breakfast at the hotel and then caught our Limo at 10:00. We used Sunshine Limo and they were nice and punctual.
We had a nice ride to the terminal and didn't have to touch our bags.
It only took a few minutes to check in and get our key to the world cards. We recieved boarding number 12. From the time they started boarding until they called group 12 was about 45 minutes.
We took a few pictures in the terminal and the wait didn't seem that long.
We toured the ship and ate at Beach Blanket Buffet. At 2:30 our room was ready and we enjoyed a brief nap.
We went to the Golden Mickeys. It was a nice start to the cruise. After that we went to Studio Sea for Mickey Mania "the game show that is insania". It was alot of fun. The first evening we ate at Parrot Cay and meet our Servers Igor and Corina.
They were great and my kids really enjoyed talking to them through out the trip. We would love to have them as servers again. We walked around the ship for a bit and went to the gift shop before heading to the room for bed. It was a great start to the cruise.
