WONDER skips a port due to maintenance issue..

Guests who boarded Disney Wonder on Monday, October 28, 2024, were surprised to learn they would not be getting the itinerary they anticipated and, in fact, would have no port visits altogether and a later arrival for debarkation at the end of the cruise.

The ship is sailing from Brisbane to Melbourne in Australia, and the original itinerary for this 4-night, one-way cruise included a stop in Eden on Wednesday, October 30, from 2-8 p.m.

“Due to some unscheduled maintenance on the hull, it is necessary to replace your visit to Eden with a Day at sea,” the letter delivered to guests read.

The report that I saw said that DCL was unable to provide sufficient documentation of hull cleaning to meet Australia’s very strict biofouling regulations.

Yeah it's just hull cleaning that it's going through. However according to people on board disembarkation will commence at 9am for concierge, so they were able to make up some time.

I think the hull cleaning was for New Zealand's benefit more than Australia's. As the ship has been moving through Australian waters since October 18th. However recently NZ has been turning ships away that can't prove they've done the proper biosecurity.

Our friends were on this cruise. Everyone had to disembark by 10am. First breakfast seating was moved to 8:15am and second breakfast was 9:15am. They watched them cleaning the hull a few days ago which they said was interesting.
