We are here to help
I can't wait to see everyone also!

Trust me, you will not be the only ones! People love to get their pirate onMost of my FE gifts are done!!! So excited that it's getting so close! I was wonder about pirate night... Do a lot of people dress up? My DH and our friends are worried we will be the only ones, and they will hold me solely responsible if we are I just wanted to check before I make them dress in full costume for the sake of the children I think it's going to be a blast to dress up, but I don't want us to be the "crazy pirate dressed people" that everyone laughs at for years to come. Thanks guys for all the info posted. I am an ocdvp and have been waaaaaaaay overthinking all this stuff.
We have the handmade portion of our FE's completed! I just need to package things up and it's all ready to go. How's it going for everyone else?
Here's a question for all past cruisers: What is your favorite thing to do on the ship? For me, I love sitting in the cushy loungers outside Cove Café with a mocha and watching the ocean go by, maybe reading a bit, or knitting a bit, but just relaxing! Aaaahhhh!
I love that too, especially in the early morning when the ship is quiet and I can have a latte and sit and have me time! Can't wait. I just joined this group, I haven't been on a Disney Cruise since 2011 and it is TIME!!
Hi and welcome! We're doing a road trip also! We love doing road trips with our cruises. Last time (2013) on the way down we took a side trip to New Orleans and on the way home was a side trip to Roswell, NM. I love researching and finding fun stuff to see and do along the way. This time, we're going to spend some extra time in Galveston visiting with some friends and exploring the area a bit.
We find the FE's really fun to participate in. When the kids were little they would race to the stateroom to see what goodies were waiting, and I really enjoy gifting to others.
You definitely won't be the only ones. We just bought a new costume for DD, as she has outgrown her old one. DS does a full Jack Sparrow imitation (voice, mannerisms, everything). He's had a number of people pull him aside and ask to take pictures with him. You should have seen my face the first time this happenedMost of my FE gifts are done!!! Hi! Just booked the Galveston cruise. It was a surprise for my family and a present to myself for my birthday. I would love to join the FE group. I haven't been on a Disney Cruise since 2011, so I am a little out of practice and I can tell a lot has changed, but nevertheless, we are SO excited! Please give me some advice/tips/ help! I need to get up to speed. Thanks! Marcia
HuskiesRule is organizing our FE. I'm sure she'll respond soon, she's really great at communicating. I don't believe the list has been closed, so you should be good to join. Can someone let me know if we can join the FE????? Is there a FB page for this? I am ready to go!

I was out celebrating my birthday
It was awesome! I love everyone getting together for any occasion, or no reason whatsoeverI hope you had a great time!!!!
No rush on the info, I am not closing the group until we hit 10 rooms or one month before the cruise, whichever comes first. As to what people bring for FE's, I have seen the spectrum. Remember with DCL's new rules that little bottles of alcohol are now banned so those are out. Candy/food is always popular, especially theatre boxes of candy. If you are crafty, anything homemade from keychains to pillowcases to personalized magnets. Eye Scream toppings, Bear Necessities, postcards, journals and various toys and pretty much anything else you can think of. If you do a search on the boards or the internet, you will come up with tons of ideas. It all comes down to what you want to do and how much space you have to bring it. If you read back a page or so you will see I plan to go overboard since I have been planning this cruise for over a year and I just can't seem to stopWhew... thanks so much for your reply. I know I am coming in late and I really want to do the FE again (we have done it once). If you can believe it I am still waiting to hear if my teenage daughter will be going or not ( so that would change the kid # and also possibly change the room. I will get back to you by tomorrow on that. So, is this still the best place to check in before the cruise or is there a FB page? Also, curious as to what kinds of things people bring for the FE. Talk soon and bon voyage!
Oh, and Happy Birthday!
Hi, I have a daughter who is 7, almost 8. She loves to make friends, but it is easier when I help make the introduction. Lets meet up! ps. I also have a son who is 10.I noticed the mention of kids and ages and going to the different groups. Do some of your kids already know each other? If so, do they all meet up and hang out together? I have 2 kids, my son will be 13 and my daughter is 8. So they'll be going to 2 different groups. Our last cruise, their ages fell within the same group, so I felt good about that. That won't happen this time around. My son can make friends with anyone and really enjoys meeting new kids, my daughter needs more encouragement and doesn't easily approach new kids.

Nicole1234, It's probably just me, but I know it took me a bit to figure out how to do a private message - with this new interface, so I thought I'd give some directions. All you need to do is have at least 10 posts - feel free to just post multiple times here with 3, 4, 5 etc. until you get to 10. Then you can click on Huskiesrule name on the right side of a post, which will allow you to click a start a conversation link, where you can send a private message. Good luck, and if you have any questions, there's lots here who will be happy to help.
