Wonder refurbishment?

We were on the Wonder for the Panama Canal cruise in October. She is still a beautiful ship and we really did not notice anything I would consider a major issue. The cabins were updated in 2015 and again, no issues. There may be a little wear and tear, but you really have to look for it. They keep the ship very well maintained. Have a wonderful time!

We were also on the PC cruise in October and I thought the ship looked great!!!! Yes some areas need some TLC but overall I was happy with how the ship looked. We had a blast on the Wonder.

Also, why did a another poster say "the dreaded ducktail". The ducktail on the Magic doesn't bother me. Are there issues with it that I haven't heard?

Edited to add that I just saw the above post (replied to thread before reading the whole thing). I still see why some call it dreaded. I understand they won't do it until they are sure about the opening of the new locks but I don't think it detract's from the ship's appearance and I have not felt or seen any negative impact the ducktail had on guests or the ship. We have sailed several times on the Magic after her refurbishment. I guess I just don't get the haters!

Haven't been on the Wonder in awhile. Does it still have the old Shutters setup?

Really? She must have gone seriously downhill since last May then. We sailed on her for the WBPC cruise and they were painting and varnishing and keeping her in good repair the whole time we were on board. I can't say that I noticed any major issues with her upkeep or anything suggesting she is in need of serious renovation.
The Wonder is a beautiful ship, but our cabin was falling apart, paneling coming off bath tub, bath faucet not staying in holder, hot/cold water function faulty, bed pillow ragged and worn, blanket same, daybed/sofa also just looked very old and sagging, coffee table just completely a mess- dented and scratched up, dark colored furniture mixed with light colored furniture (because I guess they are changing out the furniture piece by piece?) smells in hallway (like an internal water leak happening for some time somewhere) (5th floor). Smells in diversions. Smells in that place above tritons. We were on the wonder Dec 2014 (6th floor) and we thought the wonder was in great condition. Last December (2015) we felt she was in not great condition. I wonder if there has been a let it go attitude since they are they are heading for dry dock? Not sure. We will be on the Wonder again in March, and we kind of wish we had pulled out before the paid in full date. Too late now, but maybe we will have a better experience. Maybe we just got a bad room. It was also a difficult cruise which probably colored things for us. Rough seas, not a lot of sun. One night we saw various people lying down on the fifth floor in the atrium with blankets (I guess to be in the middle of the ship for sea sickness?).

Wow, we never had any of those issues. I hope you get a better room (and have a better experience) this cruise.

I think it may have to do with the "ruining the silhouette" of a classic ship. It just looks odd. I don't think there are any real issues (problems) with it.

We never had any issues like that when we sailed the Wonder at the end of September, either. Granted, that was our first cruise but I never saw anything that I would classify as 'ugh, that needs repairing/this looks old' etc. I felt it was a gorgeous ship and I'm so excited/lucky to be sailing on her again this time next year!

Thanks!! Yikes...saw that I spelled there wrong in my post....just edited. hate that!!!

We have been on the Wonder twice (June was the most recent) with the Fantasy in between. There are obvious differences and upgrades between the Wonder to the Fantasy, but I would say the Wonder is still in great shape. I would be on the ship in a heart beat if someone wanted to pay for me to go on it.

Do you mind telling us what cabin you were in?

I actually kind of like it. It seems to balance the look of the back of the ship to me.

We were on the Wonder in December and she looked great to us. Both of our staterooms had been redone. We also had the dark wood and the blonde wood but I think that's how they are doing it. I believe the Fantasy and Dream have that mix as well. Between the Magic and Wonder I love the Wonder and am a bit bummed that more than likely our next cruise won't be on her

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere but we just got off the magic and crew members told us the wonder is planning a 3 month drydock for reimagination!
