Hi Everyone,

Just got back from the 8/28 4-night cruise! Has an AWESOME time!!! I am working on my cruise report and hope to have it ready soon. If anyone has any questions, please ask away - I am happy to answer them!

Was the pirate show available on the wonder ? The one with the fireworks ?

What was your favourite moment ? :earsboy:

A couple of questions, if you don't mind. I'm trying to decide which night we should go to Palo.

1. What night was Pirate night?

2. If you had the late seating, were you finished eating in time to see the fireworks.

3. Recently read that the 2nd and 3rd night you eat at the same restraunt, ie TAAP or PTTA. What was your dining rotation.

Glad you had a great time.

Thanks

What night was Golden Mickeys? I have ressie for Palo for both Monday and Tuesday...but don't want to miss Golden Mickeys! I'd rather miss the variety show!

Now this one I know..LOL
On the 4 day cruise they are on the Tuesday night.. :earsboy:

Did you do any shore excursions? If so, I would love to hear about them!

Did they do Palo Brunch? If so, which day(s)?

Also were they doing the Lifestyle pics (the ones on the white background with bare feet)? If so, did you happen to notice how often or when?

Thanks for answering questions, glad to hear you had a great time!

Here is a quick summary of the "highlights" of each night:

Night 1 - Cruise casual evening attire
Sail away celebration, Hercules the Muse-ical Show

Night 2 - Dress-up night evening attire
Day at Nassau, Mark Nizer - juggler/comedian

Night 3 - Tropical or Pirate evening attire
Day at Castaway Cay, Golden Mickeys Show
Pirates in the Caribbean Party started at 9:45
Fireworks weren't until about 10:30
Pirate Buffet (desserts, snacks, some food) began at 10:45

Night 4 - Cruise casual evening attire
Day at Sea, Disney Dreams Show

We had the APPT dining room rotation. First seating, second stagger time. Which meant that each night, our dinner started at 6:00 pm. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 daughters, aged 10, 10 and 6.

I had so many favorite moments.....so hard to pick just one. We did the dolphin encounter excursion - EXCELLENT!! Our dining room server team, Mario from Coatia and Kerrie from Canada were THE BEST!! Our stateroom door won "Best Dressed Door" - didn't even know they gave out an award!!! My daughter got picked to be in "Who Wants To Be A Mousekeeter".

No, we didn't do brunch or dinner at Palo. Nor did I get a chance to even see the spa! So much to do and see, 4 nights is not enough!

Yes, they do the pictures with the white background. They were set-up every night for that. On both sides of the atrium lobby they were set-up for pictures - one side was the white background and the other side was a ship background, which I think they changed each night. But the white background was there every night.

Regarding the shows: everyone in my group enjoyed Hercules, really liked the juggler/comedian, LOVED Disney Dreams - but we were all disappointed in the Golden Mickeys!!!!

It would seem that every other 4 night sailing has Golden Mickey's on Tues...then the next sailing changes it to Monday!
Tell me more about the Dolphin encounter! DH and and Oldest DD will be doing the encounter while my other 2 DDs and I do the Blue Lagoon Beach! Then hopefully we will meet up at the beach and have lunch! I heard there are only 2 boats back(2:00 & 4:00)...is that true?

We really loved the dolphin encounter! Let me take you through that step-by-step and give you some helpful hints, as well.

The Blue Lagoon Beach Day and the Dolphin Encounters (or swims that are also available for additional $$) are all at the same place so your whole family will be traveling together. You will find your excursion tickets in your stateroom when you arrive. You will have 2 tickets for each person. One is the actual ticket and the other is the waiver that you need to sign. You should sign for any minors under 18. We had to meet at 9:15 AM in Diversions (bar) for our excursion. The check-in person takes your waivers, gives you a sticker for your shirt and you get your towels. Please be on-time and do not forget your tickets. We had to wait for late-comers and also some people showed up without their tickets. Then we had to wait for them to come back!

Next, as a group, we had to disembark the ship - everyone must have their KTTW cards and picture ids for anyone 18 or older!!!!! Then, we all had to walk a pretty good distance to get on small ferry boats. BIG TIP - get to the front on the group!!!!! There did not seem to be enough seats on this ferry boat. There will also be tons of people trying to sell you bottled water. We didn't buy. You each get free cup of fruit punch on ferry - we were fine with that. Also, when you get on ferry boat, pick a seat that is next to an open window or even better a doorway. You will really be thankful for the breeze. The ferry ride took about 30 minutes, not the 45 that they told us.

When you arrive at Blue Lagoon, the family members going to the dolphin encounter will head off to the right, across a beach to the other side of the island. The others will just stay near the docks where the beaches are. They have snorkeling, boat rentals, etc. It is really not that big so you will not have trouble finding each other later on.

At the dophin encounter area, you will hear a brief talk about dolphins and then be broken up into groups of about 30. There are a few free lockers to put valuables and also a bench area to leave things like flip-flops and towels. We all wore water shoes so we were not required to take them off at any time. Your group of 30 will go to a covered-area (nice not to be in the direct sun) and actually sit down and hand your feet over the side into the water where the dolphins are free to swim in and out of. Once the trainer comes over with the cooler of fish, the dolphin sticks around. The trainer will break the group up into 3 smaller groups of about 10 each. It would be really great to get into the 1st group - we were stuck in the 3rd group. The trainer had the groups of 10 get into the water on a platform. Adults have to kneel down and one-by-one, you get to have a personal encounter with the dolphin. You get to hug, kiss, dance with, rub back and belly and touch their teeth. They also take pictures of all of this and video tape it as well.

Once your group is done, then you go up to the gift shop where you can see your photos and video. Then the 2nd group goes and then the 3rd group. So, if you are in the first group, you will not have to wait as long. It took quite a while for our pictures and video to be done. Of course, none of these are inexpensive but totally worth it when you see how great they come out.

Right before you get on the ferry from Nassau, you will each be given a blue ticket and a red ticket which will be for your lunch and a drink at Blue Lagoon. After you are done in the gift shop and have your pictures, you will walk balk over to where the docks are and meet up with your other family members at the beach. The line was pretty long for the food - the food was just okay, not great. We each got punch to drink - rum included for the adults.

We really wanted to be on the 2:00 ferry back. This ferry is much bigger than the one you arrive on so you don't have to worry about not being able to get on it. We sat upstairs but didn't realize that there would be a band downstairs and that they played games with the kids. So, you might just want to sit down there.

Because we had to wait so long for the pictures, we didn't even have any time to use the beach area. If we wanted to take the 4:00 ferry, we would of had 2 hours for the beach.

During the ferry rides, you pass some amazing houses along the shores!!!!

Have fun!

A quick question on the staggered dining times.

I understand that the seatings are Main Dining - 5:45, 6:00 or 6:15pm and Second Seating will have staggered times of 8:00pm, 8:15pm and 8:30pm.

How does this work with the ambiance of the Animators Palatte? I saw on the Disney Cruise Line Special on the Travel Channel that the courses, colors and music of the room are all timed to coincide:

i.e. low music when entering, room is black and white, black and white appertizers served... music comes up a bit while eating appetizers (to fill the void of people not talking with their mouths full)... music goes down a bit before the entrees come out, colors begin, entrees come out... music again takes more prominence... etc, etc.

On the Travel Channel special the Imagineer showed a bar graph that showed how food serving, lights, color and sound were choreographed together - the graph looked like ocean waves or a stock market chart.

Do they no longer choreograph music, color, light and food? I only ask because we are slated to arrive at 8:30 (last seating of 2nd seating) and I can't imagine that people who were seated at 8pm don't get any color added for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes... I'd hate to walk in on time and have the room already started to change.

As I see you had second time, main seating you may not have noticed. Thanks for any info you can give!

Thanks sooo much for your indepth detail of the Blue Lagoon Excursions!!! I am really looking forward to this! How much was the photo?

I know there are soooo many questions concerning these staggered dining times - and I didn't really understand myself until I experienced it firsthand!!

Everyone in the restaurant is on the same stagger time! You do not have people entering at the different times. Each different restaurant, as a whole, is on the stagger time. So, you and everyone else will eat dinner at the same time every night in the different restaurants.

The video was $45.00. There were packages available for the pictures: one was $59, one was $79, one was $119. You can also buy individual pictures for $15 each. YOU MUST PAY WITH CASH OR CREDIT CARD - THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THE KTTW CARD.

Thanks deeron51!

You rock! That clears up my question on the staggered dining! Thanks again!

will you have a trip report w/ pictures? :teeth:

What day is mouseketeer? Is it only a matinee now like it is on the Magic? DS got on 2 years ago and is dying to try again. He won $175.

They did Mousketeer on night 2 (Nassau) in Studio Sea at 7:45 pm and 9:45 pm. Did not give out cash prizes - gave out limited edition "clear" paper-weight like item w/ Mousketeer insignia and pin.

Am working on a trip report. Had planned to write it all out when I was on the ship - but, of course, "where did the time go?"
