Hello my name is maria and I will be joining the cruise....woohoo!!!!

Welcome, Maria & family!! :welcome:

Any suggestions on what to pack for 4/5 year olds anyone

I need to dig up a packing list. There are several under the main DCL forum. But, for starters ...

1. For traveling to/from cruise: a lovey (blanky, teddy, etc.), snacks & a few new "surprise" toys (smart tablets w/ games & vids are the best). If they can chew gum, def bring it. Will help w/ change in cabin pressure. Extra set of clothes or swimsuits/flipflops in case of accidents or if you want to go for a swim upon boarding since everything else is closed. Travel-sz sun screen.
2. For kids on cruise: 1-2 Clips for the curtains, night light or bright digital clock, 2 "nice" outfits, FE holder, lots of sunscreen, hat, 2 swimsuits, pillowcase, t-shirt or picture frame & bunch of large/perm markers for character autorgraphs + candies for the characters, autograph book, Trading pins, if they're into that, light jacket/sweater, pirate costume (for pirate night).
3. For you - power strip if you have lots of electronics, a hanging shoe holder - for all kinds of misc items, sticky notes, CAMERA & lots of extra film/thumb drives. Small, waterproof bag, small ziploc bag for room key, highlighter (for your daily Navigators), laundry bag, laundry detergent/dryer sheet (if you plan to do laundry), dishwashing detergent (this comes in handy).

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

Hi to everyone. We just got off the Magic this morning and are ready to go on our next cruise. My DH and I took my daughters family on their first Disney Cruise and we had a great time.
On this cruise its just DH (Dave) and I (Sherry). This will be our fifth Disney cruise and we just started cruising Oct 20 2012. Needless to say we love Disney cruises.
I am so glad that you all have started an Fe list. My grandsons loved checking the Fe everytime we headed back to the cabin. My 6 year old grandsons favorite part was having his picture taken with Mickey. My 4 year old grandson loved the musicals. And he sat still for the whole performance. Shock!
I will continue to check the board. We live in Houston so it is a short drive for us to Galveston. Wishing Disney will come back to Galveston.

Hi Sherry!! This will be my family's first Disney cruise and we are so excited :) We have started a fish extender group and if you are interested, just let me know and I will message you all of the details. Can't wait til November!!

Has anyone ever gone to any of the fitness classes on previous cruises?

After reading some of the old Navigators, I would love to do some of the yoga or Pilates classes!

My husband has done the Spinning class. He loved it but it really was intense. That is the only one he has done but I watched the Boot Camp while I was on the treadmill and it was intense. Sherry

I have never done a spinning class. My local gym is pretty small and that it one thing we don't have. I mainly do the elipticle machines at the gym and Pilates at home with videos. Over the last 2 years I have lost 98 pounds and I have 32 left to reach my goal :) I am hoping to meet my goal by Nov 9th!! Since I am going to be on vacation, I do plan to splurge but I actually am really looking forward to exercising on the ship!!

Wow! Congrats on the weight loss!!! That's a HUGE accomplishment! Keep up the great work!

Hello, all! My extended family has booked this cruise:

Myself (Susan, 35), my DH (Clint, 36) and our DD (Eden who will be just shy of 4 in November).

My MIL, FIL

My DH's brother and his wife.

(our family of 3 and the in-laws are going to be in Navigator's Verandah rooms, anyone have any comments or tips?)

My DH and I have cruised once, November 2008 on Celebrity Summit--14 nt Med cruise (Barcelona-Nice-Florence-Rome-Amalfi-Greek Isles-Athens-Instanbul-Venice, etc).

I did not realize that DISboards existed, I was actively involved on cruisecritic for that cruise and our roll call was very busy. I designed our cruise's website and helped to plan our meet and greet.

That being said, we really used that cruise as a floating hotel to get us to our destinations and not really for the cruise itself.

Therefore, I am new to the world of things such as fish extenders and these lovely DISboards. I kept seeing people say on cruisecritic that the DISboards were more active but no one ever said it was a separate website so I kept trying to find the section of cc that was "DISboards". Perhaps I'll go back over there and send out the message for the rest of us uninformed people!

The only person to join the roll call I set up on cc for this sailing did mention I would be "shocked" going from Celebrity to Disney...for what it's worth.

Hoping this will be a great vacay for our extended family and a fairly stress-free way to introduce our little girl to the world of Disney!

This is our first cruise so a lot of this is new to me as well but I have found a ton of information on this site!!

I have never been on Celebrity or Disney so I couldn't really tell you much in that respect. I chose the Disney cruise mainly because of my 6 yr old daughter. I don't think she could handle the parks at this age so I thought this would be a more laid back atmosphere. Plus, with all of the children's activities I am hoping that I will have time to sneak in some spa treatments!

Hello and good afternoon what is the count of the people that have signed up for FE? Adults and kiddos??

I left my laptop at home today so as soon as I get home tonight, I will post it.

If anyone would to send me their email address, I can email you our preliminary list so far :)

Thanks
Dana

Speaking of, I got your message Dana and I have not hit my quota of posts just yet so as soon as I do, I can message you back. Off to make some posts!!!

We'll be on this cruise!!

It will be DD (9) and myself, and it's going to be our first cruise EVER! We are so very excited!! :D

Done! I just sent you an email.

Stupid Question here but what does DD, DH, DM, DS all stand for?? :confused3

Most of the time the D=domestic

ie= Domestic Husband (DH)
Domestic Daughter (DD)

and so on. I really have no idea who decided everyone was DOMESTIC, it cracks me up. I had to learn this jargon, too, when I started posting for a cruise in 2008. There are still a few here and there that I have to "google"! Welcome~

** FE Update ***

So far, we have 7 families - 13 adults and 10 children

Anyone out there that has not contacted me and would like to participate can contact me here or by email at dgay@dlinc.net

Can't wait :)

Dana
