Has anyone else heard any updates on the Wonder dry dock, for re-imagination, not just scheduled regulated dry dock?
Nothing since this note: http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2014/05/disney-wonder-re-imagination-potentially-confirmed-for-late-2016/ The rumors are that the Wonder will sail to Europe in 2016 and she will have the re-imagineering at Cadiz, where the Magic was also done. Combined with the Panama Canal expansion being ready late 2015, allowing the Magic to take the honors for the 2016 Alaska cruises this might make sense. No official announcements have been made and no itineraries for 2016 have been announced, so this is all speculative, but logical information.

This whole dry docking of the Wonder sure is confusing the more and more I look into it.
It doesn't make sense to have "winterized" the Wonder if in the end, the Magic will be doing the Alaska run - does it?
when I was on the Wonder on the July 28 Alaska cruise, there was a group of people being escorted by a ship's officer coming into cabins on deck five (forward). I just happened to be in my cabin (5506) when they arrived. The group was Italian. I lived in Italy as a kid (Navy brat)) and I recognized some of what they were saying. They had laser measurement instruments and took detailed measurements of the room so I asked the DCL officer what was going on and she said it was prepping for the Wonder's drydock. I asked when was the drydock and she was vague about timing, of course! But indicated that things would start end of 2014 or beginning of 2015.
Could be that they are getting ready to order materials, or I wonder if they would start updating rooms prior to actually getting into the drydock....
Interesting that the measurement people (5) were all Italian...maybe it means the drydock will be in Italy???????

What is confusing me about this is that the Wonder has cruises planned and booked non stop through the end of 2015. How could they be dry-docking at the end of 2014 or beginning of 2015? Am I missing something?
Because there not the Wonder had one earlier this year, there is no need and for a major dry dock the time scales for taking measurements too tight. Current plan it's September 2015 .

By "getting started" they likely meant ordering materials/components. I imagine for a dry dock they want everything staged and ready, waiting on parts kills any maintenance/overhauls check.
Depending on what they are doing some things may have very long lead times as well, especially including design/engineering time.
This is just my guess, though
