We're sailing in September (not until 2003 but you know, gotta gather as much information as possible).

I've been searching past postings and have found quite a bit of information on weather-related topics for cruises in September. I still have a few questions:

1) Have you sailed in September on a 3-4 days cruise and been diverted due to hurricanes or tropical depressions?

2) Where were you diverted to?

I've read about the 7 days cruisers experiences, but not much about the shorter trips. Obviously we have booked for the savings and the biggest tip I've gathered is to be flexible. We are looking forward to what could be a mystery cruise however I'd like to know some of your experiences.

Thanks!

I do know that this trip was diverted to Charleston, SC due to Hurricane Michelle. Michelle hit Nassau on the day that the Wonder was supposed to be there. There was no where left to go since Michelle was coming right between Cuba and FL.
We were not on this cruise due to dh being denied leave because of 9/11. We had to cancel at the last min.

YUP! The Wonder came here to Charleston! I was so excited to see her in Charleston Harbor. By all acounts the guests were welcomed with open arms to the downtown historic district and market. Not excatley a tropical port, but better then going to the beach in a hurricaine! If I had been on board I would have grabbed a cab to the beach for the day.

In 1999, Hurricane Floyd took out Castaway Cay two days before we sailed. We still made it to Nassau, but instead of CC, they took us to Key West.

Last September when the Magic was filling in for the Wonder while she was in dry dock, we took a 3-day (Sept 12-a very quiet ship). We made it to Nassau but couldn't get to Castaway Cay due to Tropical Storm Gabrielle. We spent the day at sea off the coast of Miami.
