Another newbie question from me - so TIA

Right now we have a cat 6 booked on the Wonder #6556 but DH thinks its too close to the elevator. Does anyone have any info on this room or others in the area? DH wants to upgrade to a 5 and maybe a 4 and availability seems good right now. I guess I think the 6 is fine and would rather spend the money on other things especially during the cruise.

Since I don't see the point in a 5 over a 6, is a 4 that much better? It looks like just a bit more space for the wallbed.

ANy info and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would keep it. We had the same room before and LOVED IT! It is so conveniently close to the kids clubs (makes it easier to carry sleeping children back to the room) and we heard no noise from the halls. Save the money and use it on an excursion or Shutters!

Oh wow, when I posted I thought to myself, yea right like someone has stayed in that room LOL.

Thank you, my girls will be 9 and 11 at the time of the cruise so we won't be able to carry them. A short walk however will be welcome by all - especially the tired kiddos. They can't wait to get into the kids clubs and DH and I can't wait for a few minutes alone.

Now I just have to decide about switching to the later dinner - leaning toward that esp for the late breakfast!!

Hi, jumping here to add that you are right a 5 or 6 is same room, just on different decks. The only difference in a four is the extra bed near the verandah. A lot of $ for nothing in my opinion.

I would go with your thought of saving the extra $ for all the fun things that come up.

We have not stayed in your cabin, but very closeby, and LOVED the location. Not needing the elevators for anything, the pools on 9 are so close, and after dinner could walk up.... :goodvibes

Our children were 8 and 5 on the last cruise, and it was our first time with early seating, and we were not impressed. We had two prior cruises with late, and felt this was much easier on us. There was too much of a mad rush to get the four of us washed and in the dining room for 6. And with all there is to eat, we were never starving.......

Hi!

I stayed in this cabin on the 1/30/05. We, my parents and I, loved the location. We did not have any problems with noise. Since we all have mobility issues, we really liked being close to the elevator :)

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have 6558 booked for 5/27/06 and was wondering about the feeling the motion of the ship. What were your experiences? What time of the year did you sail?

Thanks.

Thus far, we have stayed on deck 5 aft and deck 6 mid. We all thought that we felt less motion being midship..... We have also been very lucky with weather....we only really felt the motion on the 1st and last night.....

We had 6550, no keep it!! Super location! Right near the stairs, which can be faster than the elevators.

We stayed in 6556 last year on the Magic 08/07/04 and have booked the same cabin for this year (7/17/05). We loved the location like so many others have said. It is close to the stairs and most importantly, close to the laundry room (great for quick ironing before dinner). We did experience some noise from the kids playing around the elevator (there is a an large open space near the elevators) but, the ship's officer quickly put an end to it. I can't speak about whether it is better than a 5 or 6. There were three of us (DM,DD 11 and myself) and this room has the pull down bed over the sofa, so we all had our own place to sleep. We had early dinner seating (due to the fact that I am a diabetic) and enjoyed it too. We were done with dinner and the show early enoughh that my daughter could go back to the lab for nightime activities. Hope this helps.

Wow thanks so much - Loving this board. I am going to keep the room after reading all the great replys - especially the proximity to the stairs rather than the elevator. Noise and motion as well as room in the cabin were dh's concerns.

Thanks again -
TJ

you definitely want to be in the center of the ship. we were on a cruise to alaska this past summer and had rooms in the center and never felt the boat moving, but our family members who had rooms further aft were always complaining of movement.i also agree that the elevators are never a problem, they themselves make no noise and i think people realize that there are rooms right next to them. i'd say keep the room, sounds like a great one! :)
