Wonder 5 night Western Caribbean, October 31, 2014 - who's going?

Hello All! Just booked this cruise today and would love to join the FE! I also requested to join the FB group-- looking forward to chatting with everyone. :goodvibes

Good day
Welcome to those who are new to the board since I last spoke! I'm very excited for you Raven, being your first cruise with the one and only mouse. By far my favourite type of vacationing. :thumbsup2
I'm much more comfortable posting on DIS rather than Facebook. These forums bring back a lot of good memories from past cruises and I'd prefer to dedicate my pre-cruising efforts here. Would someone kindly elaborate on what a FEE is and how it works? :hyper:

The FE is called Fish Extender-- it's a group that you join and you exchange small gifts with each other on the cruise. The name comes from the fish emblem that is on the wall outside your stateroom door-- we hang bags there for the gifts to be "delivered". It's GREAT fun and I highly recommend it. There are MANY threads here on the Disboards that will explain it better and also show ideas for gifts. :)

Hi Everyone - we are booked on the Wonder leaving 10/31, this is our first Disney Cruise. It will be me, my husband and our 5 year old son. (sorry so new to Disboards, not sure what all the abbreviations mean).

I requested access to the facebook group a few days ago, but have not yet been approved :-(

We want to be part of the Fish Exchange :-) Looking forward to some fun!!!

Is it too early to start putting together a FE group for our cruise? Can we limit the number of participants of each group to 10 cabins? I want to start getting things organized and ready :-)

Hello Fellow Halloween Cruisers:

We just got off a 3 night cruise on the Dream and couldn't wait to go again. This time we are bringing our nieces along.

So we have myself, DW, DS10, DS9 and DD 10. Then our nieces 11 and 14.

We are celebrating our nieces 14th birthday on board!

We are going to skip the FE this time around. While it was great, it was a little overwhelming on the Dream. Want this one to be a low stress event. :beach:

This is our forth cruise. I just learned about fish extenders!! We would to participate everything. I do not know our stateroom yet.

Will Morris - Daddy
Amanda Morris- Mommy
Mary- Daughter 11 yrs
Jacob - Son 13

We live in Indianapolis, Indiana
Are there any race fans out there?

Would really like to join the FEE.

Good evening!

This will be my first Disney cruise, but I just heard about the Fish Extenders and would like to participate with my family.

Disboard name: sprudel
Kids ages: Eliana 12, Aidan 9, Alexander 6
Nope - just a vacation.
Would really like to do the fish extender.

Hi Sprudel, are you currently on facebook, we already have a group going over there :-)

Hi Everyone,
This is our first Disney cruise and we can't wait. Please add us to the FEE list. It sounds fun!
We are:

Heidi (Mom)
Alfredo (Dad)
Isabella (11)
Liam (4)

Mommy and Liam are celebrating birthdays! He will have turned four and I will be observing the anniversary of my 29th birthday.

Stateroom: 6042. Can someone fill in the details of what the "gifts" are supposed to be like?

Also, just made a request to join the fb page. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Heidi

Welcome to all the new folks on this cruise! I've updated the first post to reflect the fact that the FEE is being handled on Facebook, but if there is anyone out there who would like to do a DIS only group, we could possibly do that if there are enough folks to participate. I know that some people don't like FB or don't even have an account so it's tough for them to take part in things like that.

I hope everyone is having a great time this summer and soon it will be time to be Paid in Full and begin booking excursions! Does anyone have any plans already like dining at Palo or what they plan to do in Grand Cayman or Cozumel?

Just booked this cruise today! :cool1: First time on DCL, 10th cruise counting RCI and Carnival. We are in our late 40's with adult children, who are staying home, hopefully we don't stand out like sore thumbs. :rotfl2::thumbsup2 I just really wanted to try DCL and the prices were good so we thought, why not?

Hello everyone!

We are on this cruise with you. We being me (Donna), DH(David), DD#1(Chelsea-15), DD#2(Megan-14), and DS(Garrett-10). We are cruise veterans(I honestly don't know the number we have been on- its a lot). But those have all been on Royal and Carnival. This is our very first Disney cruise ever!! So excited to finally get to try disney as we are Disney fanatics. We would love to be involved in a Meet and Greet. And from what I understand of the FE that sounds fun too. I sent a request to join the Facebook page. Hopefully that will be approved soon.

I'm so excited for this cruise and to chat with everyone before we meet on board!

Donna

Will there be an opportunity to scuba dive in the Caymans or Cozumel? How will it work? Do we schedule a dive trip through the the boat and Disney? Do they hook us up with a third party? Or are we on our own?

Personally, the diving in Cozumel is much better then Grand Cayman.

I would look at Trip Advisor as there are many scuba companies operating out of Cozumel.

In regard to whether to use Disney vs private, that is an individual decision. We book our privately to save $, however, the risk is that if you do not make the ship departure, you would be left behind.

On the other hand, if booking with DCL, and you are running late the ship waits for you.

The other downside to booking with DCL is that those excursions are typically more crowded.

Good luck and enjoy.

Eric
