Won Ride on Mardi Gras Float this weekend 3/20..What can I expect?

I just got a call from Universal’s Annual Pass Department. I won 2 spots on a float for this weekend 3/20. I was wondering what I can expect. Can I bring a video camera while on the float? Also will they allow drinks on the float while tossing out beads? Any information will be helpful. Thanks

OH, you are going to have soooo much fun! We did that 2 spring breaks ago! You will go to a designated spot and they will assign you to a float..you don't get to pick. You will sign a release. Some floats have costumes you put on over your clothes, but it was POURING the day we did ours, so we didn't LOL! You will climb up a ladder that is like one on the side of a boat, onto the float and you get tethered in with a leather belt around your waist. IT is pretty heavy. You are given instructions on how to throw the beads and coins. We couldn't bring any drinks with us, we had our camera and they took pictures for us. You will be too busy to film anything while you are on the float I think! When you get to the end, we had our pictures taken by one of the CM's and then lead off the back lot...no loitering there!

Enjoy....it was soooo much fun!!!

Being on the float is fun, I did it 3 years in a row. No drinks are permitted on the float, nor cameras/video cameras. You will be too busy focusing on your beads. And DONT WASTE BEADS. If you want to have a lot at the end, tease the crowd with them. Dont throw mercilessly. If you do, you'll run out too soon. You should have some remaining when the parade ends.

As has been said, you will sign a release and you get assigned a float. It's always fun, though.
