I did not have one. My fibroid issue only surfaced at 47. After a couple of cycles of issues, I was in the hospital getting multiple blood transfusions. All the male doctors were talking hysterectomy. My fibroids were small but right next to the uterine artery. A young female gynecologist came in and said "tell me everything". After four days in the hospital, I wanted the least invasive fix to the problem. She said with my being so close to menopause and not wanting more children, I was a prime candidate for a uterine fibroid embolization. So, that's what I had. It fixed all the problems without the surgery.
I also did my own research because no one could answer why it had happened. So, recognizing I had an estrogen dominance, I researched endocrine disruptors and made a lot of changes in health, beauty, and laundry products. The laundry products did the trick; even my daughter noticed the changes in her cycle. Three years later, I hit menopause. So, no... I didn't want one and I didn't have one. No regrets.
