I know that there's a fancier restaurant upstairs but what is the difference between the Cafe and the Express? I saw two different menus so are they both on the same floor?

if you are on the dining plan, one is a TS and one is a CS.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. My question is what is the difference between the Cafe and the Express? Is one inside and the other outside? Or are they on different floors?

They are on different floors. Everything you see on floor 1 - street level is the cafe.

Upstairs has tablecloths and more seasoned waiters, however, much of the cuisine is similar. Their is less upstairs but the food is great. The view is also very, very nice.

I've been to both and would recommend the cafe. It's more convenient.

They are both in the same building, their just seperate thats all. The little podium outside where you ask for reservation or check in kind of is sandwiched between the two. Wolfgang puck Express is included in the dining plan but only in the one in Marketplace. The express one is in a small section where you can order, and you can eat inside. The Cafe is right next to it and you have the option of either inside or outside, but I guess you could eat your express food outside as well, I don't recall seeing outside seating for this, but than again I didn't really payt attention!

There are actually 3 Wolfgang Pucks: Wolfgang Puck Express in the Disney Marketplace side is a CS. Wolfgang Pucks Express is the the lower floor on the Westside is a CS and Wolfgang Pucks Cafe " the Dining Room" is upstairs on the Westside is a TS. Here's a link with the different menus http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#pi

Both the Cafe and the Express are on ground level. In addition, there is another Express over in the Marketplace. As you know, the Dining Room is upstairs. ;)

We love the Cafe. It is large with a number of seating areas including an outside patio facing the lake. The food and service are very good. We go there more often for lunch as dinner is more crowded in our experience.

We've never tried the Express at the Westside.

What's different is the prices! We were seated in the Cafe (downstairs table service). The table was small, seemed cramped, and in a bad location. We took a quick look at the menu, and decided it was overpriced - really only saw one thing we'd like, and decided that we just didn't care for the atmosphere which somehow seemed to be snootier than we were in the mood for. We got up and left (before even ordering drinks) - didn't even tell anyone because we couldn't find any worker around to tell! We went to the express and ordered a yummy pizza (for less money and no tip)!

I am going to have to agree with you on the table sizes. Though our server was really friendly, it was such slow service on his part. We didn't get our bread until we finished our apptizer. The people who sat next to us didn't get their drinks until they got their appitizer and didn't get their bread until the got their main meal, so we were both kind of complaining to each other about it, but the sever was really friendy. Probally spent two hours in here, we tried to see a movie, but had to change our movie times twice throughout the dinner and catch something else since it took forever to get out. It also took long before a server came to us to get our drink order and introduce himself.

wolfgang puck express ws is on the left side of the building, basically carry out..they have some tables outside ( I think a few inside also, we ate outside) and have salads, cookies ect pre-made in a cooler, pizza and chicken freshly made. it's not the same as the cafe which is on the right side of the building and has a different entrance ( also the entrance for the upstairs dining room)

we got pizza, excellent, at ws express before Cirque

Is the slow service described here by two posters typical for WP Cafe? I've got an ADR for dinner for one night of our trip, but I cannot sit through a two hour dinner with a toddler -- our ADR is for 6:15 pm and we need to return to the resort in time for his bath/bedtime routine (which usually begins no later than 8 pm). Should I cancel the ADR and find another option?

I forgot to mentin that we'll be taking the bus back to BCV, so I really can't spend two hours at the restaurant!

We also had very slow service in the cafe, and I thought the waiter was somewhat "snooty." However, the pumpkin ravioli was to die for!! I would go back just to have it again. It was the only place that the waiter was clearly upset that we did not order all of the appetizers and desserts available to us on the dining plan.

I think you will have trouble eating at any table service restaurant at DTD and getting back to BCV by 8pm using the bus. I think I would look at Epcot resort restaurants if you plan to eat after six and want to start the bed routine by 8pm...which is such a good idea I think. I know we used to do it when our kids were little and to me there is nothing sadder at WDW than seeing kids beside themselves because they are so tired.

We've always had good service at WP Cafe but we actually prefer lunch because it is so much less crowded.

I'm beginning to reach the same conclusion. In our past trips we always had a car for each day so we didn't have to work the bus schedule/ride into the equation and had no trouble eating anywhere in WDW and stay with DS's schedule. I'll look into switching the ADR to lunch or go elsewhere for dinner.

I was just at WDW and used the Dining Plan at Pucks and it was great~ They also told me that for CS if I didn't want a dessert, I could get an appetizer, meal and drink and it was amazing! I always eat at Pucks and never have had bad food, bad service, never bad anything !! (poor English, get over it lol) so good luck with Pucks and don't forget to try the Mango Iced Tea! YUM!

Is the sushi at Pucks Express considered an appetizer or a main dish on the dining plan?

Was just down in the World last 2 weeks and on Saturday Oct 1, we attempted to eat at WP Express Westside for CS meals. The cashier told us that they did not take the dining plan, but the WP Express in the Marketplace did. So we went over there for dinner and they did in fact take the plan. The menus were somewhat different at each place, by the way.

Was a bit of a hassle, but now you all are warned...
