Wolfgang Puck-cafe vs "UPstairs"

Can anyone recommend either place?

We ate at the Cafe in January 2002 & we both thought it was quite good. Pretty gourmet for a quick take-out place. Everything is done to order - no pre-packaged stuff. We're going again in a few weeks.

Right now the "special" is a discount on his new book. About a month ago it was a free dessert.

We ate "upstairs" in October of 2001. What a waste of money. Mediocre food, worse service. We have eaten in the Cafe and enjoyed it previous to the upstairs debacle.

We have only ate at the cafe, we really liked it. From all that I have read that is the way to go.

We've never tried the carryout spot. We much prefer the cafe to upstairs which we found to be very expensive for run of the mill food with just an ok server in our case.

I ate at the cafe this weekend and it was wonderful. I have eaten at other WP cafe's in California along with the original Spago and all meals have been great.

I haven't eaten at the upstairs area yet but here is a review of one
