If you watched the show from the wet zone, how wet did you get? Anyone leave the show soaking wet?

A little misty. If the wind is coming toward you, very wet.

It's also been my experience that the wind makes a large difference. I had a chance to watch WOC from nearly the same area over two nights. The first night I didn't get wet at all. The second night it was really windy (they were playing messages over the PA saying they might have to cancel the show), and I got a generous faceful of color.

Neither time was nearly as wet as going on something like Splash Mountain or GRR.

I agree with the previous posters, it depends on the wind.

One time we watched WOC at the front rail in the red wet zone.
There was no wind and we were completely dry.
(In the photo above, we watched at the water's edge, by the life preserver that's middle-right.)

Another time we saw WOC at the rail in the preferred dining section (the red line in the photo).
It was windy. We were misted and a little damp (30 feet from the water's edge).
The people who were at the "front rail wet zone" (the green line in the photo) looked like they got fairly wet that night.

I liked watching the show in the wet zone. I'd buy some of those cheap thin-plastic ponchos at Wal-Mart for 88 cents and go for it.

:earsboy:

I had a experience with slight misting on the railing toward the Silver Zepyher.I believe they do have a sign warning possible wet zone area(s).

Yup, as the other posters said...Totally depends on the wind. Same exact spot spot...one show just a light mist, next show on another day, you would have though the fountain was right above me shooting down. Came out drenched!

We were soaked to the bone the very first time we watched and thought it was both shocking and hilarious. We knew we'd get wet but not THAT wet. I wished I had a water proof video camera to tape everyone around us, it was so much fun. Cold after, but we couldn't do anything but laugh.

we were at the very front railing, by the water. Got wet, but not soaked. I agree it was misty, but constantly so, so by the end, we were wet. Agree that wind is a huge factor. Just imagine all of that water constantly spewing up in the air, and the wind blowing it. If it's windy, you will get pretty wet, at least if you are up front.

We were on the rail in March, there was a breeze but not a wind, we were hardly wet at all.

We were on the rail in November after having dinner with our WOC dining package, and as this was our first time seeing WOC. Not really having looked much into viewing areas as to where the splash zones were, we hopped up to the front. There must have been a wind because by the time the show ended we were SOAKED!!! We just happen to be really good sports and were laughing hysterically through the whole thing and enjoying ourselves immensely, but it would have been better with a poncho and other clothes that would have been more appropriate. However we were quite cold by the end of the show :rotfl: Here is a picture of the splash zone area as soon as everyone cleared out.

Thank you for your responses. I <3 this board!
We will try and go for a spot on the railing if possible. If it is windy that day, we will stock up on some ponchos.

On our first opportunity to watch WOC, we wanted front row seats. I asked the CM at the ropes how wet the wet area was. He told me it was just a light mist. ok. We took our kids and headed up to the railing in the red section. THe show was going great, but a gust of wind hit just as one of the nearby fountains went off. The water started pouring down on top of us. We were soaked! :lmao: Thankfully the flames warmed us a bit. As we exited after the show and I looked at the CM and said, "Just a mist, huh?" :rotfl2:

We were soaked completely. It was a little windy but not bad. After the show we left the park and walked back to our hotel because we were all freezing.

Even if you aren't in a wet zone you can still get chilled and damp. We watched it from the bridge going towards Screamin', and the second after the water came on, we had a cold damp breeze. 10 minutes before the end of the show, I was shaking, I was so cold. Seconds after the show ended, I was warmer, and walking away from the area (lots of mist hanging around) I got warmer and warmer the further away we got.

Brr!

Had a breeze last may when we went and we got really wet. Soaked out hoodies. Made it not as much fun as previous viewings.

But if it was a hot day, during summer I could see it being alright.

I have also been in the 'wet zone' on non windy days and we got a little misted. Just had to wipe off my glasses but it was fine.
