WOC super thread has me all confused...give it to me straight!

We are going first week of March. I'm not sure if WOC will run every night (I'm assuming not) so we'll probably only have the Friday/Saturday nights to do it. My kids desperately want to see Fantasmic, and that will probably run the same 2 nights. So we'll probably do one one night and the other on the other night.

So tell me...What does a short mama (5'2") need to do to make sure she and her 3 littles can see WOC well enough.

WoC will probably be nightly. There are just two midweeks this month where it is dark for some maintenance.

1. Get you Show Passes in an manner as described int he super thread.
2. It has a window of time to show up, aim for 15 minutes before that.
3. Find the spot where you color is meeting and when they let you into Paradise Park take a spot against a railing in the tiered viewing area.


That way nobody is standing right in front of you blocking your view.

As Skiingfast said it should still be nightly. Besides the 2 midweeks its dark, its nightly up until Feb. 22 (which is as far as the calendar currently goes).

When I went to see it I was really confused as well about how it all works, but it is done really well. I just wish they would get a better way to line people up before they open the viewing area

Because I wanted to be front and center, I arrived to the viewing around about an hour and 15 minutes BEFORE the return time on the fast pass. This was about 2 hours and 30 minutes before showtime! I asked around where the "yellow" group stands and found out that there are two yellow groups...not what I wanted to hear. However, the CM pointed me to an area to wait, and so I did. More and more people kept arriving and I just stood my ground and did not move from where the CM told me to stand. Sure enough, when it was time to start moving, he came up to me and told me to follow him. The trail of other yellow ticket holders behind me followed as we walked into the yellow area. Once you hand your ticket over, it is a mad dash to claim a spot...people running around everywhere! I got to the tier right above the front area and noticed that the area below me was a "wet" zone and there was a section of the rope the blocks the "yellow" viewers from getting to the first row missing, and instead it lead down to the front row! I just walked down there and got a front row spot....as close to the center as possible.

Of course, after I made it down here, some other yellow viewers noticed and did the same thing. The red zone was a little delayed so they were not down there yet either so we had a chance to pick the best spots.

So, long story short, if you really want a great spot, get there super early! Ask where you line up, and just park it there. People that were arriving 10-15 minutes before the return time on their tickets were not getting front tier areas because the line was already really, really long. Just be prepared for a lot of standing! Its a great show if you can get good spots! The 2nd night I watched it was disappointing because of where I was standing. Really bad view. Personally I feel Disney really messed up with the way they handle viewing of this show, but it is to late for them to really make any changes.

I read so much stress and drama and planning that rivals a military re-con operation that it makes me LMAO.

The best laid plans pretty much get blown up because the entrance into the thing is completely scrogged. Total chaos and depends on who is working that night and how they let people in. Just go with the flow. There are many viewing areas.

We've done it both ways, with picnic meals, with dinner and with no plan at all. They all work. Truly.

Thanks for the condensed update. We'll be going next weekend for the first time, and as East Coasters, won't be back to see it anytime soon. We've ordered the veggie picnic dinner so we won't have to gallop to Grizzly for FPs.
It sounds lilke there's some construction going on in DCA that will make getting around tough. If anyone can give us an update on the shortest route from the viewing area back to the Esplanade, it would be greatly appreciated. We're going to try to hoof it back to the Magic Kingdom right after WOC ends to catch some of the fireworks.

The are now walls with only small gaps(3ft) on the edges of the path behind where Paradise Park is and if you have yellow(that is the color the picnics come with) if you will cross into the blue zone and out the east side of PP, or have to go back around the whole peir(which I doubt). Anyhow once behind the park, go up San Francisco Street along the edge of the LM building. Follow the path around GRR and to the exit alongside Soarin. It's been like this for months now.

If you need to leave quickly to get to DL, try to view WoC from the back and leave quickly after it ends, because most of the crowd is leaving with you, and you don't want to get caught in the pack.
