I am considering doing the pinic package while down there and was wondering if anyone had done it before and could give me some feedback? Also anyone have any pics.....I have only seen one or two and would like to get more of an idea of what it entails. Thanks so much. :santa:

Are you asking for more information on the food specifically, or on the whole process?

If the food, you can find pictures of each meal on the official Disneyland website: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneys-california-adventure/world-of-color-picnics/

If you're asking for details on the process itself, you can pre-order your picnic online starting 30 days out. You can pick up your picnic anytime between 11:30 and an hour before the show - you don't have to eat it during the show. With the picnic, you will get a YELLOW FASTPASS included with your meal. This will allow you to stand in the YELLOW section of the general viewing area. You will still have to line up with everyone else that received their yellow passes for free from the machines, and if you want to ensure a front-railing view, you should really line up at least an hour prior to the show's start time. The picnic is a great way to get a fastpass if you know you won't be able to get a free fastpass earlier in the day, but I always like to stress to posters that you can get the same exact pass for free from the machine earlier in the day. Disney is a bit less than transparent of that fact on their website. Details of the WOC picnics are also found at the link I posted above.

Has anyone done the dinner at Ariel's Grotto? I am curious on the food. Good, bad...worth it?

I've done the picnic once and Ariel's Grotto twice. The picnic was alright. I don't know if they've changed it since the first summer of WoC, but I probably wouldn't do it again. The food was good but small portioned (ok for a small lunch). The main reason why we did it was because we didn't want to bother with the long line to get a WoC FP, but that's basically nonexistant these days.

The Ariel's Grotto meals were for special occasions. The food, I thought, was really good. I got the vegetable appetizer (yummy!) and the prime rib both times. And the dessert platter has some really delicious treats too. The preferred dining viewing area is really good too, but they're always changing the area around.

Normally, I will just go with the normal FP option, but once in a while I may do the dinner thing again.
