My wife and daughter are joining me at DLR when I'm attending a conference in June from the 24th through the 28th. I'd like to make dining reservations that get you into the best WoC viewing area. I understand that as of June 15 Ariel's Grotto will no longer offer this. We don't want to do the WoC lunches since that is not the best viewing area. I really want to be able to get the very best view for my daughter.

I've also heard that there is the possibility that the restaurant in the Carthay Theater in DCA will provide this WoC dinning package, but nothing is reported on the Disney web site. When I look at the web site it specifies that the Ariel's Grotto package (soon to be gone) has "Preferred" viewing, while the Wine Country Trattoria's WoC package as "Reserved" viewing. What's the difference? I don't want to pay the extra for the dining package only to the same tickets that you get with the picnic lunch package.

Any advice?

The WCT DINNER comes with preferred viewing passes (like Ariel's). The lunch at WCT offers a blue FP, and the picnics offer yellow FP's. The colored FP's are also available for free from machines, so I don't recommend paying for them with the lunch options. I can't speak for the Carthay options yet.

What I will caution you is please, please, please don't assume that paying for preferred viewing gets you a great spot, it simply gives you an improved chance at a good spot. You still need to line up about an hour before the show starts if it's crucial that you be near the rail in front. If that's not as important, you can wait 30 minutes instead, but there will be no guarantees!

Picnic = Yellow zone
WCT lunch=Blue zone

WCT Dinner = Preferred dinner zone.

CCT will probably replace the AG dinners.

Which is the best? The middle area is near the center of the show, so Blue and Yellow work fine when you can get to the middle of Paradise Park. When you pay for the dinners, you are paying for dinner far more than a view.

Thanks! I'll report back after the trip.
