WoC Guinea Pig Roll Call

We were just there on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and they tested the full production- Tuesday night twice. It was amazing! Of course the park was closed, but we saw it from the Grand Californian resort view rooms. It is absolutely beautiful! The audio is fantastic! We laugh, we cried, it made us very happy!
It was true Disney magic!

I heard rumors there may be testing Memorial Day weekend...anyone know if that's true?
They have been testing for many weeks now. It is true there were credible rumors about soft opening previews in May and thru Memorial Day, but it appears Disney has changed their mind and those will not happen.

I teach in a local nearby school district and we have June 11 and June 14 as furlough days. I know that many of our students have APs. Just passing on that information to visitors.

I'm so intrigued with WOC that I might just spend the day June 12 at the parks and take my chances. Rest up on Friday and have 2 days to recover before going back to work.

Ah, this is why soft-openings were created...so that things would be ORGANIZED by roll out time. Alas, Disney seems to have forgotten that one.

We're there June 11-17, so :scared:. But, it will work out, or it won't. And since we missed Fantasia last time, the one big benefit is that hopefully everyone will be flocking to hang off lamposts and crowding into the "pens" to view WOC, so we hopefully will get some good seats for it, and some fun rides in the dark. Since it's just my daughter and I, I can see us standing for hours, and she has to go to the bathroom right before WOC, and we'll lose our spot in the crowd. So, I'm trying to decide if I even wish to bother.

Now, if there was a dining package, I would break my "HOW MUCH!" rule, and buy one, but since they don't have that organized either at this point, oh well.

If we were in the same section, I would save you and your daughter's spots. :goodvibes

That said, if I were in your shoes, I'd probably make Fantasmic! a bigger priority. If you can do the second show, it will be child's play to get a good seat (and I mean sitting on the pavement SEAT!), compared to what you'll most likely experience for World of Color. I am always partial to live performers so unless the WALL-E portion of WoC blows me away :lovestruc it's likely I will still prefer Fantasmic!

I'll be in the "second wave" in mid-late July so I'm counting on those going soon to inform me about the best way to go about seeing the show! :thumbsup2

I am in that first wave and I may even give it a miss. We shall see.

I'll be there opening weekend and will report back as much as I can as it happens, here on the boards and on Facebook.

Wow! The sacrifices I make for The DIS. :rotfl2:

Any new WOC news? I am away on a business trip and am DISing from my hotel room catching up:goodvibes

I'm still debating whether or not to go on opening weekend...we might go on the Sunday after opening day. But i don't know, because we usually arrive at the parks around 4ish because we are annual passholders, but WOC would require us to spend the whole day there (i think to get showpasses?)

I'm also kinda scared after bad experiences with the opening day of the new Space Mountain and the return of the holiday fireworks...CRAZY crowds! :scared1:

I just added one of the dining packages for Saturday, June 12th to my WoCW (World of Color Weekend) calendar. :scared1:

I'm approaching World of Color overload. :rotfl:

I'll be posting WoC updates starting on Thursday and continuing thru Saturday. I'll be posting them via Twitter (something new to me). Follow me (is that the right term. :lmao:) at TomBellTheDIS. Or just friend me on Facebook (link is in my signature) as the Twitter updates will post there also. The DIS will also be "retweeting" my updates on their Twitter account.

2 weeks to go!!!

Thank you in advance to the Wave 1 Guine pigs with WoC dining reservations!

We are wave II: July 18th - Ariel's 6pm

So relieved to see the dining for WOC finally. We're booked for June 13th at AG.

Quite a relief. What I dreaded was having to rush in a mass of people for vastly confusing tickets. I'll happily pay for the reasonable (for Disney) price for a little less stress and some dinner.
