WoC FP or PD for group with 3 small children

Hi everyone,

I read through most of the WoC super thread and I still have some questions! We are traveling with 3 adults and 3 children, ages 4, 4 and 7. I think we are going to attempt to do WoC and not F! (my DS4 was quite afraid of F! in WDW and I don't want to attempt it again.)

We are traveling from the East Coast for only 4 nights, so WoC may be a bit ambitious anyway - we will be there in late Feb. when the show will be at 8:15 pm.

So my question - should we do the WoC PD (was thinking WCT lunch) and secure those FP's? Or should we simply try to get a FP's earlier in the day? We are thinking of going Wednesday night as that is the day we were going to visit DCA (no MM at DL). I'm a little nervous about just trying to get FP's and not securing them and also nervous that we might shell out a lot for the WCT lunch and then not make it to the show!

Any thoughts? Thanks!

We just returned from DCA and did WOC one night, we just got there in the morning at 930 and my DH just went and got the passes (blue I think) while we lined up for Soarin, we had a group of 9 including 4 kids. We then didn't really want to line up too early to get in so we arrived just as they were opening to allow people in, there of course were a lot of people waiting so they all got the front rails, we were then the next "row" behind. We then made sure we chatted nicely to those in front and when the show arrived they kindly let the four kids stand in front of them at the rail.

This allowed the kids all to see very well and we had a good view behind being that much taller. Definately didn't feel as though we needed to get in line any earlier.

BTW the kids were mixed in their preference of WOC or Fantasmic. F we sat right in the front (waited for 3 hours) and I think the kids liked being able to sit while they watched.

Enjoy!

The WCT lunch is different than the WCT dinner. If you get the dinner, you get show passes for the Preferred Dining area (which still requires you to line-up). If you do the less expensive WCT lunch, you just get a blue FP. Blue FP's are the same exact FP's you can get for free from the FP machine in the morning. Since you're not even sure if you'll make the show, I'd just recommend getting the free FP's from the Grizzly River Rapids machines in the morning. In fact, as long as everyone's tickets have been activated at either Disneyland or California Adventure that morning, you can just send one person over with all the tickets and that will make the process more efficient. Lines are no longer an issue when it comes to getting FP's in the morning. A few minutes tops, and to be going on a Wednesday in February, you'll have no problem getting a FP in the morning or afternoon.

Personally if it is in your budget I would do the dinner package, and make sure you make it to the show. My assumption is that being from the west coast you likely go to WDW more often. This is one very unique show you don't want to miss. :)

Wow! Good to know, thank you! I still like the idea of the dinner, but I am afraid if the kids nap in the afternoon, we actually might not make it to a long sit-down meal! The regular FP might be the way to go. Thank you all so much for your input! It's also good to know someone can hop over from DL to get the FP's. I am so in WDW mode, I can't even fathom park hopping like that! Thanks!

Get your Blue FPs in the morning but keep your PS reservation. If you can't go, no harm as they won't charge you.
