WoC + Eating + Seating

Our family of six would like to NOT wait in the FP lines in the morning, so we're going to either be doing the picnic or the dining package (leaning more towards the dining package) to guarentee that "seat" for us HOWEVER, we don't want to sit in the prefered viewing section. We'd like to go yellow!

Has anyone requested, specifically, to be sat in a specific color and had that request granted with either the dining package or the picnic? Do you folks with a lot of Disney knowledge think they'd let me trade in my prefered viewing seats for yellow FP?

If it makes a difference we'll be doing WoC on 12/15

Thanks in advance for any insight to my question, or advice for my situation. :goodvibes

Unless you are disabled there is no "seating" as such.

Only 1 person has to wait in the line to get the FPs, you just have to make sure that you have everyones tickets to get the FPs.

I was in yellow and it is next to preferred, it would be pretty easy to walk over, esp. if you were in level 2.

You cannot request your area. It is all based on the FP you get with your meal.

Just did preferred and it was fine...not quite sure what makes yellow special...they are all quite big sections with different vantage points within them.:confused3

bear in mind that it is pretty hard to have a totally unobstructed view. we were lucky...just one 6'5" guy with a kid on his shouldersin front of us:rotfl:
but others around were really accommodating especially for the kids.
good luck

Why do you want the yellow section :confused3

The section you get with the Dining Package is directly in front of the show...

We have 3 little ones, and this'll probably be the only time we're able to go to DL for a LONG LONG time. We want an unobstructed view, and we want to get wet! I understand that being in the very front means you miss some things on the sides and that you've gotta crane your head to see others. We don't care about that so much. :goodvibes

FWIW, we were there last month, did the Trattoria dining and were very pleased with our meal. The salad, steak and sides were very well done and generous in size; honestly, I would return to eat there were it here at home.

So, would I do it again at DL - absolutely, although it is expensive.

And they make a killing on the child's plates.

I did a picnic and I don't know that this is the rule.

I picked up the picnics just afer 11:30 when they let you start getting them. I was given yellow and asked about blue. They said that I could try back later for blue but couldn't estimate what time I should show for blue.

I don't know, even though it happened for me, that picnic tickets are yellow then blue.
