WOC dinner? Or just the fast pass? Advice needed please.

I read the super thread, but need some advice.

We are a larger family (4 kids) and traveling with grandparents who have some issues standing for long periods of time (sitting for long periods is also an issue, but moving is okay.) Grands will only be with us 2 days/nights. (We will be there for 5 days.)

We are doing BB for PTN on our first night there so we don't have to stake out a spot hours in advance. No way the grands could do that or 1 person could hold area for 4 adults and 4 kids. So BB is worth it. Hoping we can move up the street a little for the fireworks, but not a big deal if we can't. (Kids saw videos of fireworks from train station and liked it better than the AO spot by IASW.) Also, grands have never been to BB. So that was our splurge.

Now for the question. Night 2 we want to do WOC. We usually try to keep meals on a budget at Disney. Breakfast at hotel in morn, go back to hotel for sandwiches and a swim for lunch, cs for dinner. BUT, grands have some health issues this trip that make standing (or sitting) for hours very, very difficult. Walking is okay, sitting for an hour or two is okay, standing for an hour, or maybe two would be okay. More than that will be a problem. From reading about WOC dining, it looks like we would still have to line up an hour and a half or more before the show to get a good spot. We're on the short side and have two little kids along with two school age kids o it's an issue. Would the reserved dining really make a huge difference in time saved waiting? I would love to save some money if it's not going to make a big difference in time because we would then do a character breakfast (brunch) instead. If it's a significant time savings, however, it's probably worthit for the grands health. (While it seems like the dessert option would fit the best, unfortunately, we cannot afford to spend that kind of money for dessert since there are 7/8 of us.)

And if you do think the dining package is worth the time savings, would you recommend WCT or AG? I'm leaning towards WCT and booking for an early dinner in hopes of also catching the Pixar parade, but I read that there's no guarantee of being seated outside and people seem to like Ariel's better?

This is only our bigger kids second time to Disney , the first the younger will "get it," and the baby's first visit, so I'm trying to get everything planned as much as possible. Thanks in advance! I've already learned so much here.

When do you plan on going? Peak crowds? We just got back and did the Dessert Party for the 5 of us. I'm so glad we did! Having a chair to sit in AND not having to hold my short 9yr old was wonderful. We already had to hold her so she could see the castle for the fireworks. You do get a full plate of food and alcohol drinks. Kids 9 and under get the big WoC cup that normally sells for $25. The cup "dances" to the show.

End of July so yes, peak crowds. I so wish we could do the dessert, but I just don't have $550+ for it in the budget. Sounds like so much fun though!

It wasn't an option you mentioned, but I recently did the Carthay Circle lunch package. The lunch wasn't too bad. The food and service were both generally good. But, they sat us on the balcony, with all the noise from the various mini-shows around the main fountain and in the midday heat. They refused to let us move to an inside table (even though there were MANY free tables for two (or more) inside and they knew that we were on our honeymoon). I can only guess that the "cheap seats" are reserved for the "cheap lunch" packages (although I didn't consider the meal to be "cheap", especially with currency conversion).

The designated spot for WOC was pretty great. Obviously, not right at the very front, but I think just in front of the WOC dessert party. It was necessary to stand, but it was fine to sit until the show started.

We did WOC ariels grotto dining package a few weeks ago, and got front row for the show. The only problem was our two year old got scared of the pressure cannons right next to the railing, they make a pretty loud noise... Once you get into the viewing area you can sit until the show starts. I think the package was worth it for us since we wanted to do AG anyway. We did PTN with BB too, and we enjoyed it even though the viewing area was not great to see the fireworks.
