WOC Dining no loner offered @ Ariel's starting June 15th.

That bites...I love the WOC dinner package there. Wasn't at all impressed with the other WOC dining options.

I will be curious to see what "other dining locations" will mean since this currently leaves only Wine Country Trattoria, unless they are counting the pick up of picnic meals?

Would the new Cathay Circle Restaurant be one of the other dining options? Probably a WOC dining package is a good way to promote the new restaurant. I was planning to go to Ariel Grotto for our WOC dining package. If the new restaurant offers that, I would be happy to do the switch. I guess I will have to wait till June 15 to find out more.

Darn I was going to call on Friday to get the WOC package at AG for June 20! It will be interesting to see if they offer any options besides WTT.

I bet that is what they are doing given June 15th is both the date they stop the Ariel's thing AND open Catharty Circle.

But I have heard from my CM friends that they haven't been having the number of WOC dining packages that they first were when WOC open. Well into a WOC performance they will still have fastpasses at Grizzly river runs available for that same showing.

What is surprising was that when I asked well which place has more WOC dining redervations Ariels' or Wine country they said Ariels so I wonder why they are getting rid of that one.

That's disappointing, were planning on doing Ariel's to get the WOC package in December, it was the only WOC restaurant that we liked the menu for. Hope they add some new locations.

We really enjoyed our meal at Ariels for the WOC dinner. We did it the year WOC first opened. DH and our two teen boys all loved it. And they all went in with doubts about it. DH even was asking about it for this trip. I guess that's out. I'm not terribly crazy about Italian food restauarants. They all seem over priced for what you get: noodles and sauce. :confused3 So, guess we'll pass or see if they offer something else.

I really do hope that they would offer something else besides WCT. Pixie dust ...pixiedust:

ahh man! I was planning on booking that WOC package for our next trip... :rolleyes2 Oh well...

That's what I was planning, too; we arrive June 22 so I can start calling Sunday for stuff. Maybe I'll play dumb and see what they say; WCT and the picnic weren't on the radar with my hubbie. :-)

I just wanted to throw out that we (DS and I) did the package at the Trattoria this weekend and it was a good meal and the dessert tray was yummy! I had the seafood pasta and DS had the lamb shank. Service was good.

We took advantage of the reserved area tickets for WOC and followed the suggestion of a poster who suggested a viewing spot up against the rail. It worked out simply GREAT.:wizard:

I hope your speculation is correct. I'm excited to try the new restaurant, and a WOC package makes it even better.

The lamb is very nice. I like the Trattoria menu better than Ariels, so this change is fine with me.

We have done WOC at Arials 3 times now. After the first time we did it just because we like the food there (tri tip) so much! the last time though we had our 2 grand daughters with us and they were extremely unhappy they were not going to be seeing the princesses like they did when they were there the last time with their mommy and daddy. In July we were planning on going again, this time we will be with our daughter and 3 year old grandson. We will go there again even without the WOC tickets, because of the good food, and I'm sure grandson will be happy to see some princesses! Hopefully they will be doing the WOC tickets at the new Carthay restaurant, it will be a perk for having a meal we would have had anyway!

I hope a new option is offered! We had Ariel's in February and didn't love it. We were discussing our October trip last night and had decided to bypass WOC dinner this time, but if there's a different option... we may change our mind!!

I just talked to Disney Dining, and FWIW, he said that Carthay would be added to WCT for the WOC dinner package. He did not know what the price would be.

I plan to call this Saturday for our trip in June, 60 days out. I will report back on what they allow us to officially book.

Getting excited! Hope to hear some good news from you this weekend. Thanks!!:worship:

FWIW....

I just got off the phone with Dining (4/17/12 9:00am PST) to try and reserve WOC for our trip in June. I was looking for June 17th. The CM I spoke with confirmed that Ariel's was no longer available and would be a princess dining experience at that time. She said "currently" the only dinner option was WCT, but that there would be another added called Carthay. She said right now they can't make a reservation at Carthay for WOC or even for regular dininng as it isn't even in their system yet, which she said to her was a little odd because it was opening soon. She didn't have a projected time frame of when booking would open up either. At first she recommended to call back in June and when I said "Oh...that far out?" She said, well you could try back in May as well.

When I asked if there was anything else I should do, like call back every few days she said to keep an eye on the Disney Blog as they had the most updated info.

If anyone else finds anything out let me know as I would have liked Ariel's since we have done that in the past and enjoyed the food. The WCT menu doesn't appeal to some of my family at all so that is why we are avoiding that. I would take a chance on Carthy without knowing the menu just because it is Carthy and will be so new/different/exciting.

I am sad to hear this news. I LOVED sitting out on the outdoor patio in the evening having dinner before the show. My mom and I have been bubbling about it to my dad and how much he will enjoy it as we have plans to do another WOC dining experience. My dad hasnt seen the WOC so we wanted it to be a fun experience for him.

However to think we may get to try a dinner at the new Carthay is kinda exciting. Waiting 5 years for this expansion to be completed might be a nice way to have dinner.
