WOC dessert package or Riverbelle Terrace Fantastic dining package

Any recent reviews on either of these offerings in DCA or DL? For the dessert package, do you eat and drink during the show while seated or do you eat somewhere else and then get seated on the viewing area for the show? I found conflicting information on it. But the viewing area sounds like a great spot to see WOC as we’ve had trouble in the past for the whole family having a decent view without one of us parents throwing out their backs holding up a child.🤪

For the package in DL at Riverbelle, we wanted to pay the extra to remain seated in the restaurant during Fantasmic. Is there a way to book this or is it only on the day of your reservation that you can request it? I couldn’t find a way to add it on the dining reservations page and we only want to eat there if we can stay seated for the show (fingers crossed for fireworks as well😊)

Any direction or reviews on either of these options is greatly appreciated!!

I think you might have read about two different WOC offerings, which is why you thought there was conflicting info. There is a WOC dessert party (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/world-of-color-dessert-party/), which gives you prime viewing with seats; the food and drinks are served to you before the show begins right there at your seat. It also has cheese, crackers, and fruit, so for my family - it works as a late meal (YMMV). The other option is the World of Color Dining Package (https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/world-of-color-dining/) where you dine elsewhere before, and have a voucher for a viewing area (but no seat or food during the show).

The dessert party is definitely the one we are interested in, even more so now that I know there is a bit more then just sweet treats. Did you find the viewing area adequate for your whole family to see the show relatively well?

For the dessert party, you line up early in a different area and they let you choose high or low tables. At 8, they start walking groups down to the dessert party. They serve you your desserts and drinks before the show starts and you can eat or drink in your seats during the show! It was great! We both had water, 2 alcoholic beverages, and hot chocolate. They even brought my daughter one of the kid light up cups even though she was under 3 and wasn’t supposed to.

The Fantasmic River Belle premium package is the one where you stay at your seats. You do have to book it specifically and reservations are gone in seconds every day. I’ve heard views are sometimes not great depending on where they sit you. If you don’t get that reservation, you can book a Normal reservation at River Belle and then ask your server for the Fantasmic package. This does not give you seating at the tables, but does allow you to sit on the ground close to the water. This is a better view in my opinion if you are capable of sitting on the ground.

I'll attach a (blurry sorry!) photo of my standard plate on December 28th (5 desserts plus 3 kinds of cheese, grapes, crackers) and DH's gluten-free plate (the one with the big chocolate dessert plus 2 other desserts, no crackers but same grapes and cheese).

Definitely great viewing, especially compared to standing crowds! We have been at the high top tables both times we went. See the photo DD17 took in December - you can see the low tops in front of us, and the crowds beyond that.IMG_5234.jpgIMG_5235.jpgIMG_9052.jpg

Would you say the high tables are better than the low? We've done the dinner package before but would prefer a seat like we used to do for the Fantasmic dessert party. Its been awhile since we've been to DL so trying to catch up with all the updates.

Would you say the high tables are better than the low?

So, I sent this to my friend when she was there in April:

If you can request a table, ask for a high top, preferably a high top behind a low top or a high top in the front row.

She wrote back this:

The guy asked if I had a preference and I showed him your message. He said “ smart friend” lol

Awesome! Thank you! That’s kind of what i figured but better to have confirmation! LOL

We were very first to pick our table in October and got a high-top with nobody directly in front of us, absolutely no complaints from me. It doesn't look like the dessert plate has changed much. Between me and my husband we liked everything on our plates. My husband says that if I am going to make him watch the shows that this is the way to go.

As far as the RB F! premium dining goes...it can only be booked on the website...and like others said, they rarely appear. When we went over Thanksgiving, I had booked a lunch reservation at the RB and was going to upgrade to the F! standard package when we arrived. On the morning of our reservation, I decided to ask the CM at the RB if they had a table available for the premium dining that night, and thankfully they had one left. They swapped my reservation right there, so I suggest asking first thing at the restaurant the day of. Hopefully you get some too.

Very similar food to our Dec experience! Same cookie and cheesecake, but the other items must have rotating seasonal flavors. Our rice krispie treat was coated in crushed peppermint, and the bundt cake was pumpkin spice. We also had a macaron that was gingerbread flavored. I mostly liked all of what I ate (gave the cheesecake to my son). The peppermint was a little weird/overwhelming on the rice krispie treat. It went oddly with the drinks and other food, so we packed it up for later. It was a nice morning snack while in line for IASW the next day.

For anyone interested, DH really really liked the gf version of the raspberry-filled cookie - said that was the best of the 3 desserts. I thought the non-gf version of that was really good too.

Has he tried the GF cookie at Jack-Jack's? It's pretty similar :) DD agrees that that's the best thing on the GF plate and thought it tasted like a variation on the Jack-Jack's one.

No, he didn't even think to look there for something GF, tbh! We sort of go on the assumption that all of the treats will be in cases with high cross-contamination potential. He typically sticks to table service or made-to-order quick service.

I also thought that equivalent cookie was the best part of the regular plate. DS didn't want it, and i was more than happy to trade the chocolate cheesecake for it.

Consider checking it out at Jack-Jack's next time. At least in the past the GF one there was individually wrapped so should be a bit safer from cross contamination in the kiosk/case anyway. It isn't warm like the non-GF (and if they were warming it that would obviously be a big cross contamination issue) but DD loves it!

I did both last November (2022)

I loved the WOC desert party, the deserts were nice, but that's not why we did it. I wanted a nice place to sit with my two young kids to watch it. I didn't want to stand, my kids are too small to see over people and didn't want to be in a huge crowd.
It was perfect, we got a low table right in front and had a perfect view - it was fantastic!
We also did the River Belle Package for Fantasmic, but not the Premium one as it is extremely hard to book.
We did the Standard one and got inflatable cushions on Amazon for the ground.
The seating was great, because again, I wanted my young kids to see the show and didn't want to stand, however the food at River Belle was the worst meal I've eaten anywhere in my life! inedible.
I'll never return, next time I'll do the Hungry Bear one because even though the food there isn't great either, it is better than what we got at River Belle, which wasn't fit for animals to consume.
