WOC desert party

For anyone who has done the dessert party recently: are they serving crackers with the cheese now? Some early reviews said there were no crackers.
I did the Dessert Party on the second night and we had crackers on our plates. I know they did not have the first night. I'm not sure about subsequent nights.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased some sourdough baguettes from Pacific Wharf Cafe ahead of time and brought them in with us.

The lack of a bread basket as was offered pre-covid is the biggest complaint I have about the dessert party.

I totally forgot to mention during the booking process that I do not eat cheese. I guess I was just so excited ;) Do I have to call Disney about dietary restrictions or can I let the CMs know when we check in for the party?

Just beware, I've heard that people were just getting a plate of fruit when they have a special request. I would ask on the phone to make sure you will still get the desserts.

I told them I couldn’t eat grapes (thinking they would leave them off or maybe sub in some berries or something) and I got an entirely different plate, just fruit, no desserts. So unless you can’t eat around the cheese or really want just fruit, you might want to forgo telling them anything.

OMG! That's a brilliant idea. I know that our son probably won't eat anything provided, except maybe the rice krispy treat and crackers. I had planned for him to go get something for himself. Bread would be a great option; he loves sourdough bread and always wants to buy one of those loaves. He could probably get a churro or something from Trolley Treats too.

This is a fantastic idea! I will be sure to pick up a baguette before the show!

Thanks the two of you!! That's really good to know. I think I try to eat around as I don't want just fruit.

Yes, thank from me for this info as well! My DS and I both don't eat cheese so I made dietary request on my original reservation. My kiddo would have been so disappointed if he got a plate of just fruit!

There were more WOC Dessert Party openings yesterday, so I cancelled my original reservation and rebooked with no dietary requests. We'll also just eat around the cheese. I hate the waste, but oh well. If we get seated with another party they can have all our cheese and alcohol!

I just saw a YouTube video where they showed that they expanded the dessert party across the entire length. Will anyone going soon report back on best seating to ask for and what time to line up for check in? I’m assuming you need to line up even earlier with more people having reservations.

I went last Tuesday (5/3) and lined up around 7:30pm. I wasn’t one of the first but maybe 10-12 people back? They asked if you wanted a high or low table.I chose high. Not sure if you can request a specific table location. But this is where I was seated. I think this is table 10. It’s somewhat in the center.

Thank you! Were you glad you did the dessert party? A part of me wants a closer view.

I went last night (May 9th)…we checked in at 7:35pm across from the Ariel bathrooms/GRR. We were about 20 parties back. We were in the second wave of groups to be walked over to be seated (was close to 8:15 at that point). They didn’t let us choose a table, but did first confirm if director chairs would be okay. We we’re seated second row behind low top. Great view - no kids on shoulders in the standing section.😀

My mom is a celiac and Disney reached out to confirm allergies and how many in party needed the special plate. Not sure if its been mentioned, but she had a delicious flourless cake on her plate. Hopefully they keep adjusting those special dietary plates so it’s not solely fruit for all allergies!

Yes I’m glad. I sort of picked over a lot of the desserts but I’m picky. I LOVED sitting down lol. I had been there since rope drop so I was tired. I felt like the view was pretty close. The table was along that fence, so it was like being in the front row. There were some kids on shoulders but it didn’t really impact the view since it’s big.

Having done it both ways in the past, the problem with a closer view, especially if you are height challenged like me, is that if you do not manage to get on the rail or possibly one of the few steps, most of what you see might be the back of the person in front of you. For those who talk about not seeing the bottom of the projections from the dessert party area, there really isn't much you can't see from the dessert party area, if anything- there isn't anything right on the surface- it all shoots up in the air. Again, if you aren't on the rail or aren't very tall, I don't think you are going to see any more standing in the crowd than you will sitting at table in the dessert party area. Really my favorite place to see WOC is the rail in the wet zone (with a poncho on -LOL), but the time and hassle to get that spot makes the dessert party worth our while. There are those that think the rail is too close and you don't get the full picture from that close up-- I didn't find it that way.

I wish they would do the closer WOC area like they used to do the dining area at Fantasmic, where you are allowed to sit on the ground and everyone sits. I never had any trouble seeing Fantasmic when everyone in the area was sitting. It was why we used to do the dinner package, because there was a time when they allowed everyone in the dining areas to sit, while they made those in other areas stand up. At least pre-pandemic at WOC if everyone was sitting on the ground waiting, they would come through before the show and tell everyone they had to stand up.

Thank you for this! I am definitely going to keep my dessert party now. We’ll have our toddler and so that makes it hard to see over people and hard to line up crazy early to get a spot at the rail.

I don't understand why they don't put the dessert party closer to the front? They could use all low tables and then people standing in a section behind the tables could still see.

Or just not allow kids on shoulders! It is inevitable though that someone always holds up an ipad as high as they can in front me.
Yes. Phones were more distracting to me than kids.

I forgot to do the reservation with allergies. But I did the form with Disney dining. Princess breakfast called me. These people didn’t and had none reserved for us. They had no problem getting us a fruit plate. They also ran and got us raspberry sorbet. Probably from the Napa rose as they had that in the Princess breakfast desserts.

My mom asked for more crackers. We were each given 2 packs of 3. I agree we all needed another. Anyway, they gave her an additional dessert plate. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️🙄 they said they have lots of food on hand. Apparently not at 10:15 as another post talks about. 🤣

What time was your reservation?
We had the 8pm reservations for the first show at 9pm. Some folks were checking in for the second viewing and were given their wristbands at this time too.
If I could do it again, I would arrive by 7:30pm to check in, solely to be less stress. I would like to think you could still make a request once taken to the area and seated - that you’d be able to tell them if the directors chairs would be a problem, etc.
