WOC - Am I crazy? Is there time?

Apparently I wasn't crazy and there was time! :thumbsup2. I was even able to check in at the motel first, though the commute from the airport to the motel during evening rush hour traffic was giving me heart palpitations. I was able to pick up my picnic dinner at 7:00 and was in line by 7:05. There was already quite a crowd for the only show that night (start time 8:15). They are starting a new line up procedure where they have the separate color sections wind through a queue before letting people enter. Even having at least a hundred people ahead of me, I was still able to get a front row railing spot on the bridge. I loved it! I was able to see all the details and take in the entire show so much better than the blue wet section. I'm glad I saw it again. I've revised my opinion of WOC drastically upwards.

Glad that you had a great time tonight Stephanie and was able to make it in time for the 8:15 WoC show. Can you give us more details on the new line up procedure the CMs were doing that night. Or is it the same thing where all the FP holders are right by the light tower or the Zephyr to go into the viewing area.

You still start by the tower (preferred/blue/yellow) or the zephyr (yellow/red), but when they start moving you into the viewing area, they now split you into your separate color areas immediatly by funneling you into roped off queues. The blue queue zigzagged around the other side of the tower curve and then back along the top blue viewing area. They held the line right where people would previously enter for blue, so it really doesn't change strategy. I think it made the waiting more manageable. Instead of people from different colors running in a mad dash down the walkway in front of the Little Mermaid ride, there was a long winding queue of people who proceeded at a normal pace. No stroller jumping this time that I could see!

So looks like it has not change that much except the CMs now split the different color FP to the queues to the viewing area. DL doesn't manage the crowds for WoC for the first show very well since when they do the rope drop at the tower and Zephyr, all the guests just mad rush to their color so they could get a good view. But like what you said on your report it would make it easier when you walk to the viewing area.

Thx for the info Stephanie.

Thanks for the feedback!

As I have been telling people (and you ;)) I think many of the less-than-positive reviews have been more related to poor viewing areas, poor crowd experiences, and/or late shows when people are overly tired. If one see WOC from a good spot at an early hour like we did, I think the favorable ratings increase. :)
