For you WOC experts out there - if I can't get to WOC to line up before about 30 minutes prior - is it even worth it for a short person (5'3) to try?

We will be in DL all day so I could hop over to grab a FP for the show at some point and then I might go back to CA solo to try and see the show after we put the kids to bed (which is why I can't get back there till about 7:45pm - show is at 8:15).

This might be our last DL trip for a LONG time as we might be moving to the East Coast which is why I thought I might try to see it. Is there anyway I will be able to see it if I am in the back of a section or should I just forget it and do a few rides instead? Thanks for the advice.

That will be running it really tight. But I would really try to see WoC. Don't waste your only chance.

The only time saver to a good view is to go to the fire hydrant in the blue section. This means you will need a blue ticket.

Read about more about WOC in the superthread. Read the first posts, and then skip to the last couple pages for current information.

I do not think it is worth it for you to go unless you get there earlier or can get the fire hydrant spot.

Thanks guys - I figured it would be tough from reading other peoples experiences if they weren't in the front of a section. I will try for blue and see and if I find myself obviously stuck where I won't be able to view it I will just have some fun on the rides - Thanks again!

Definitely still go! I have seen WOC twice - both times in the blue section. For starters, either I don't understand the fire hydrant trick, or others are just getting really lucky. Both times I have gone, that area is outside the ropes for the blue section and, even though we were super super nice about it, we were told that we could not stand there.

Anyway - I am also 5'3", so hopefully I can help here. The first time we went (in 2010, for a 9:00 show), we lined up at 7:00, went in at 8:00, were among the first in, and got a spot right on the rail (the one just below/in front of the rail that is now the disabled section). At show time, we let in the kids who were behind us so they could see better, and stood a few feet back with a fine view of the show. (Perfect? No. Still great? Yes.) The second time (just a few weeks ago), we showed up for the 9:00 show at 8:45. We went to the same spot (which, btw, gives a nice quick exit when the show is over). There were people all along the railing. We stood behind them. At show time, they let the kids go in front of them to stand along the rail, and we stood a few feet behind. Same view as the first time, but saved us nearly two hours.

This year we had to leave a little before the show ended because our kids were falling asleep and we had no stroller that night, and as I walked out, I noticed how many great spots there are to view the show - even without a FP. I say go for sure! it's a great show, and you'll be able to see the majority of it (enough for it to be worthwhile) even if you show up late. If my experiences have been atypical and I am wrong, and you get there and it's ridiculously crowded and you can't see a thing, then oh well, off you go to enjoy some rides. :)

I would definitely say see it if you can, especially if it will be your only opportunity.
We arrived about 10 minutes before show time and still managed to find a place for ok viewing...it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good. And I'm short too!!
