First time staying at WLV. Do studio villas all have balconies, as that is definitely a priority for our family. Any preferred locations we should request, perhaps near pool? Thanks in advance! Also we are there in about a week, is there a lot of disruption going on by the upcoming construction? If anyone is there now and can give us an update we would appreciate it greatly! I am hoping we won't be visiting the WLV at the wrong time....my kids love the pool and would be upset if that was not available.

At VWL, we like to request a room on floors 2-4 and overlooking the pool/courtyard area. There are rooms on the fifth floor, but they have dormer-style balconies meaning you have to stand up to see over them. Overlooking the pool/courtyard area also means you are on the lake view side, though to be fair the primary view of any room at VWL is of trees. As a general guide, I've had perhaps 50% of my requests more-or-less fulfilled over the years at VWL and other resorts, and only two of those have been spot on.

We were just at WL last week (actually, we stayed at BLT but visited our beloved Lodge twice), and there was no construction started. Obviously, that can change. One final note about the construction. It's supposed to involve the main Lodge pool; the Hidden Springs pool next to the Villas will still be open. That being said, once the main pool does close for the work being done there, everyone and his cousin will be using the Hidden Springs pool, so I expect it will get extremely crowded. Have fun and enjoy the resort! :thumbsup2

one studio at VWL does not have a balcony (I think its 4033).not sure. They tried to give it to us on
our first dvc trip in 2002 and of course the 1st fl has patios

The balconies at VWL for a studio are very small, just big enough for two chairs. DH had to stand up for me to get to the other chair. We did request a studio with a balcony.
