WLV vs. Vero

I am now deciding between adding points at Vero or Wilderness. I already have 50 at Vero and 230 at OKW. We love Vero but resale is not very good now. If we add at WLV, we can always use the points at Vero within the 7 month window. The taxes are slightly cheaper at WLV than Vero. Vero is offering to buy back I believe all my points the first year at $13/pt. So my dilemma is which to choose. I need to decide by end of March because of my June use year, I can still decide to bank the points into 2002 by then instead of MB. I have talked to the timeshare brokers and Disnet folks and they are even on both resorts. My kids love pool activities so Vero was perfect

Unless you are planning to sell, I would say buy the points where you want to stay. If you plan to stay at Vero after a WDW stay, I would say that Vero points would be in order.

I know that VB has not been hard to book at the 7 month window, but I would not expect it to stay that way, and an 11 month window may be the only way to make sure that you can get VB and OKW for the same trip.

I admit I am more than somewhat biased. We own at BWV and I am figuring out to swing VB points so we can stay at the beach house every other year

Pick Vero Beach. Resales are fine if you factor in the money you save with MB. Especially, since you really love the resort too.

We're under the same delemia. Either buy a resale through a broker to add on to our home resort, BWV. Or, purchase VB through Disney and hope/pray we can get ressies at BWV in the 7 month window. The 100% buyback from VB is what really caught my attention.

The original poster plans to visit VB often, a VB purchase may be the best option.

"Hoping and praying" for BWV reservations is not worth the savings with MB. WHen you look at a BWV resale, the savings get much smaller if any. If you don't intend to spend a large portion of your vacations at VB, VB points are not wise, in my opinion.

Did I get this right? You can use MB even if you already own DVC points? Disney will buy back 100% of points at $13 a point (not $10) at VB?

Yes, you can take advantage of magical beginnings at VB even if you currently are DVC members. Disney will buy back all your first use year points for $13.00 per point. I believe there is a cap on the amount they will buy back but am unsure what that number is.
