We are going down to WDW from Long Island (because we are nervous re waiting for NY to approve the DVC sale of VWL!) at month's end. We have already booked, as guests, WLV for AUgust and will convert our guest reservation to our points allocation when we finally close with DVC. However, because I can't afford more than probably 200 points, we will be "forced " to reserve a studio for this time out. The Queen size bed is for me and the wife but my two college age daughters insist on coming too. They love WDW as much as their dad ( in the genes?). Question is whether anyone can offer info re the comfort level of the Queen size sofa. THey aren't big people but I do know I'm glad that I get the bed! Any comments about the sofa beds?bosti5@aol.com

I haven't tried the WLV sofa beds but I have tried them quite a few times elsewhere and they have never been terrific experiences. Good thing is that a teenage back is a lot more pliable than a 50 year old like myself - maybe it won't be an issue for your kids. I think my teenage son could sleep on a pile of rocks. Have you considered trying to ask for a roll-away bed for the room and let one of the kids just sleep on the sofa. We have tried this. It gives each of our kids their own space and potentially gives them each a little more comfort. Hopefully this is an option at the WLV. Good luck!

I don't believe "rollaways" are an option at VWL, they don't have "studio plus" rooms either.

When you wish upon a star...DVC will take you far...anything your heart desires....will come your way

I have never stayed at VWL, only BWV. In a studio (at BWV at least) you will have a queen size bed and DOUBLE size sofabed (not queen sofabed). On one trip my brother slept on the sofabed and on another trip my sister and brother in law slept on the sofabed. They all claimed it was horrible and eventually put the mattress on the floor! But hey, there were staying with us for free, so they didn't complain TOO much!

Have a great time.

with DVC accomodations and their sleeper sofas is limited to OKW with sleeper couch in the living room and this past Feb. at VWL. I am not sure what type of bedding that DVC uses but these are the most comfortable sleepers that I have ever used. I have slept many nights on the OKW sleepers when we had large family groups staying together. Most of the time with the spouse but one week with my nephew (boy did he kick). Our 3 year old slept on the VWL sleeper sofa and on night all four family members were "snuggling" together and the bed was fine. They use a much better mattress than most sleepers that I have seen in use in folk's homes. Come to think of it, I did sleep a couple of nights at BW on a sleeper there (with that same kicking nephew) and it was more than adequate, also.

I've never stayed at the WLV before, but have had a group of us at OKW, where my friend (39 year old female)slept on the queen size pull out couch there and said it was very comfortable! I don't know whether or not the couches at WLV are the same company, but that's the only input I have for you.

hi: we've had several different people of varying ages sleep on the sofa bed at bwv. it's not like a regular bed, but it's not too bad either they tell me. yes, i'm the spoiled one in the king bed in the mbr. the people who have used the sofa include the following ages: 12,13,14,19,22,23,25,and 73 years old. it's wdw; no one complains too much. last may my son and dil had the sofa bed and said it was fine.

When we stayed in a BWV 2-bedroom our teenager slept on the studio's pullout. She said that it wasn't too bad but would rather have a bed. The studios at BWV and VWL have double sleeeper sofas not queens. It might be a tight squeeze for 2 full grown women. But if they are not the type to complain you might get away with it. Our 2 daughters (15 & 18) hate sharing a bed. Maybe if you tell them about the accomodations that they will be sharing they may think twice about coming. To my knowledge, there are no rollaways provided at any of the DVC resorts.

VWL also have something called a lock-off studio. It is a studio that connects to a one-bdrm to make...you guessed it, a two-bdrm. Anyway, the lock-off's come with two queen beds instead of the queen bed and pull-out sofa...just an FYI. :)

Here is another opinion. We haven't stayed yet at the WLV, but have at the others and for my family the sofa beds just do not work. My kids tolerated them when they were younger, but they absolutely can't stand them anymore. They really tried, but frankly they weren't getting the proper amount of sleep and it was starting to effect us (we typically go for 2 weeks so this could be a facter, 2 weeks on a sofa bed just isn't comfy). This is why we love OKW so much. We always stay in a 2 bedroom and each child has their own bed. Works great and nobody is tired or cranky the next morning. I would say if you are planning a short stay (to me 1 week or less) you will probably be fine. Also this is just my opinion, obviously other people could sleep on needles and pins and I admit my family is somewhat picky! You will have to see what works for you, that is what is important. I will say, as others have said, that DVC absoutely does not ever give you roll-a-ways, and if anyone ever gets one I would love to know because we've been members since 1991 and have never seen them anywhere.

Have a wonderful vacation!!
