Why, oh why can I not stop obsessing about where to stay? ;)

We are booked for WL (regular room). 2 adults and 3 kids (2,4,5). Will we be totally cramped. I'm wondering if 7 nights of this will just be too much for everyone? Originally I had a Studio Villa but DH decided it'd be better to be in the "thick of things" at WL......

Suggestions please?

to a Junior Suite at WL? That comes with two queen beds and a pull-out couch and a little more elbow room. The only other option (at WL) would be to book two rooms with connecting door but that becomes costly.

In my opinion yes. The rooms at the WL are only 340 sq ft, my family room is bigger than that!! I can't imagine being stuck in my family room with EVERYONE for a week! The square footage, also included the bathroom area and closet, so you're probably only getting about 200 or so sq ft of livable space. A studio is approx 40 sq ft bigger and you get the use of a fridge and micorwave in your room, with little ones that can be important. Remember with the ages of your children, you'll be spending a good amount of time in the room, since everyone will need some downtime and naps. The villas are VERY close to the Lodge, they are connected by a covered walkway, so I don't understand your DH's comment about being "in the thick of things" at the WL. They are located at the same resort, just in a different building right next door!!! The themeing at the VWL is just as breathtaking as the WL, and you use all the same facilities.

Our family of 4 was fine, but my kids are older and we used the bunk bed. I do love the WL and the ambience there.
Have you considered a wing room(or tower) at CR? Not sure if you qualify for any of the mousesavers codes that are out now, but new ones could pop up anytime. With little ones, the monorail would be great. Are you doing the FTP?
Don't worry about obsessing! We all do, that is why we are here:p !

A few years ago we satyed @ WL , there were 5 of us. DH, myself and 7, 5, 2. We were cramped. We now have 2 more kids and either get 2 rooms @ WL or this time we are trying a 2BR @ OKW. Hope this helps

We were at AKL two years ago when our children were 2,3,& 5. We did fine- we didn't do naps back at the hotel- too much trouble heading back out- we would spend the majority of the day at the parks- head back to the hotel around 4pm- swim until dinner time and eat closeby for dinner- then bed- on days we wanted to see the fireworks we simply left for the parks later or scheduled a late character meal to start the day with. We found we were really only in our room to sleep. They had the port-a-crib for our two year old- which didn't take up too much room. Now that they are 4,5, & 8 we opted for the Poly because of the bigger rooms and daybed option. But 2 years ago we did just fine. Plus our kids seemed to take naps in the stroller during mid-day and then I'd just sit in the shad with the sleeping ones while Daddy took the other ones to some rides or treats. Hope this helps!

Yes, the rooms are VERY small. The deluxe hotels are bigger. The the ambiance at WL is great, but 7 nights there is cramping. You might want to check on a FW Cabin, more space and lower cost than a villa. We are also doing FTP(Nov) and our nightly rate factored out to be roughly $91.00 for our 7 nights.

We stayed at WL 2 years ago with our 7, 4 and 1 year olds.
We didnt have any problem with the size of the room. Our oldest two shared a bed and the youngest was in the play n pack they provided.
I dont think any room, besides a suite, at WDW will feel that big with 2 adults and 3 kids.
We just tried to stay organized and kept the room free of too much clutter.
We are staying at WL again in August with our now 9, 6 and 2 year olds. Its only for a week, so heck I will be in WDW so I can stand a little crowding!!

I think you guys will be fine. The 6 of us stayed in 1 room at the YC and we were fine. The deluxe rooms are a decent size and we rarely were in our room. We dont do the go back the the room and nap thing. We sleep in and hit the parks about 10 or 10:30 am. We also normally only go in the off season so the parks start closing about 5 (AK) MK closed at 6 the other 2 stayed open later.

We stayed at the WL in February with our three kids who were 2, 6, and 7. Yes, the rooms are small, but we really did not mind the room size...being in one room with three kids always feel a bit cramped. We had bunks for the older two, and that helped when everyone needed to have separate space. Also, keep in mind that you are not confined to your room and there are lots of places in the lodge itself to sit and relax. We were on the fifth floor and we sat in the sitting area over the entry way several times. The fourth floor has rocking chair cut outs (almost like little balconies) you can sit on. My dh would take the 2 year old to a rocker in the lobby each night for bedtime and they both loved that special time. There are just a ton of knooks and cranies to be explored at the WL. If entertainment is what you need for the kids, you can also play in the arcade, visit the Cubs Den, play on the beach, or rent bikes (a favorite of our family). My dh and I spent some nice moments on the balconey after the three kids were asleep. We have a big 100 year old Victorian house with lots of space, but there is something special about vacation time when we are all in one room. Just go prepared to enjoy the cozy confines of the WL rooms :-)

Plus...the WL has a bed-time story hour in the lobby by the fireplace. All the little kids come in their pj's to hear a story. We don't have kids yet, but it looked perfect!
