WL ~ Will we feel like we're out in the middle of nowhere?

We'll be staying at the WL for the first time in December!! Woo Hoo!!

We've visited the resort several times and have always wanted to stay there during Christmas time. This is pretty much our last chance...once DH starts teaching, our vacations will likely be limited to the summer.

I'm a little concerned about how far it seems to be from everything. We stayed at the GF for our honeymoon, but with the monorail we felt connected to stuff. We have also stayed at the Dolphin twice and the Swan...can't get a better location than the Epcot area! This will be our DS's first trip and he'll be 2.5. We do have plans to visit MK at least three times, but when it comes to the other places, will it seem to take forever to get there?

Actually, I never felt like I was out there at WL. You are close to FW and the monorail resorts as well as MK.

To me it just didn't feel as 'hectic' as GF, Poly or CR cuz you are in a wooded area.

It really doesn't take any time to get to the other parks (no longer than other MK Resorts).

We've stayed at WL twice and always felt like we were minutes from the action. You're only a boat ride away from MK and a few minutes on the bus from everything else (aside from AK). My family loves WL, especially my son.

We stayed at WL for the first time in 2003. We did not feel out of the loop...we were also afraid of that before we went. The boat is great and CR is right next door if you want to use the monorail. We loved it and we were used to staying at a monorail resort too. We are returning there this August.

Not at all. WL is very close to both TTC and CR. You could walk to both if there were sidewalks (& a bridge over the water bridge.)

If you're lucky you will! That's the whole idea of the theming and landscaping! But in fact you're not. Actually you're quite close to the Contemporary, and within a mile of MK and the other monorail resorts.

We were at the Wilderness Lodge this past December and it was great! Didn't feel far removed at all.
