I think this depends on when you are going. We will be there the end of March and we're renting a car for convenience. We're anticipating large crowds.
Recently on a Sunday night, the park closed at 9:00. We were near Dumbo for Wishes and it took us a while to get to the front but nevertheless, we got on the 4th boat heading to WL at 10:15ish. There were no buses running to WL from MK. It was a long night.
Buses almost never run from WL to MK. I believe they tried it once as an experiment. FYI - you could have walked over to the Contemporary and caught a boat from there to the WL also.
We stayed at the WL last June, and the transportation was the only
downside we encountered. As a matter of fact, it was downright
frustrating.
I would say the boat to the MK to the monorail would be the worst
option. We found driving to be the fastest way just about anywhere.
Other than that, we loved everything else about it.
Yes, we could have walked to CR but with a sleepy, six year old in tow...it just wasn't going to happen. 53 lbs. sounds light until he's on your shoulder. The boat was a bit disappointing that night.
I think you could take the bus to the TTC and hop on the monorail for Epcot. Anyone know if I'm correct? We stayed at the VWL in November and used the boats and buses and never had any problems. We even had our car there but we only used it for dinner reservations at different resorts. I think the WL gets a bum rap when it comes to transportation.
