How long does the boat take to get to MK...how about the bus?

Is it quicker to take the bus to the different parks
OR
take the bus/boat to MK or boat to the resort it goes to (is that the Poly or CR) and then take the monorail to the other parks?

I'm assuming monorail service is quicker since it doesn't have to stop at stoplights and traffic???

Do the buses run direct from WL to the other parks or do they stop elsewhere too?

I'm thinking of upgrading our reservation at Riverside to the WL and am basically looking for any input on transporation from WL to other places.

Thanks in advance!

Jen

the bus from wl to mk is really quick, about 3 min, once the bus finally decides to come :sad2:. my dh took the boat once with the kids and said it was about 10 min. we find it quicker to just drive to the other parks rather than wait on the buses. but if driving isn't an option i would take the wl bus rather than try to travel to the other resorts for the monorail. i am not sure about this but i think the buses only run to wl with no other resort stops. we just got back from riverside and didn't like it nearly as much as wl. i would spend a little extra money and stay at wl :thumbsup2

We just stayed at the WL in May. I was worried about the transportation after reading some posts. However, we had no problems at all. We took the boat to MK and Contemporary and the ride itself is 10 minutes. Very relaxing.
We took buses to EPCOT and MGM. The ride was not bad at all, 10-15 mintues I'd say. You may want to take the boat, then monorail to EPCOT once, just to change things up a bit, but I don't think it would save you much time (walk inside CR, wait for monorail, etc.). Of course, the long ride is to AK. We took the bus once, but drove on the last day due to time constraints. The bus to AK also stops at Blizzard Beach. The absolute most we ever waited for a bus to arrive was 10 minutes both at the hotel and the parks. We had a great time at the WL.

The buses from WL share with other resorts except for the bus that goes to MK. This is a direct bus. The ride is only a few minutes...wait time is usually only 5 or 10 minutes.

The boat from WL to MK can vary greatly. It runs in a loop between MK, WL and Fort Wilderness. In the morning the loop runs from FW to WL to MK. So in the morning you can probably get to MK within a half hour. In the afternoon the loop reverses and goes from MK to WL to FW. So if you're headed back to MK in the evening it's going to take you a lot longer simce you have to stop at FW first.

I would never recommend taking the boat/bus to another resort or to MK to take the monorail to EPCOT. This takes way to long since you would have to transfer 3 times. It is only worth it if you are in no rush and do it so you can visit CR and because you feel like riding the monorail :)
