WL to Hoop De Doo

How long is the walk from WL to the Hoop De Doo show. Isn't there a path between the two?

Don't really know how long the walk is, but it's pretty long. Hoop De Doo is at Fort Wilderness, which is huge in of it self. I believe the walk would be several miles round trip.

Thanks! I did forget about the boat. It would be better I think. I believe it docks close to the HDD show.

Yellow internal campground bus used to last I knew. Bus depot is on other side of the Hall from boat dock and not a far walk

Not sure what you are talking about here.

There is a regular Disney bus that runs to the theme parks from WL that also picks people up at Fort Wilderness. From that bus, you have to transfer to the internal campground bus that takes you to Pioneer Hall (I think that's what you are talking about). Pioneer Hall and the boat dock are both at the way other end of the campground from the bus depot. The quickest way to HDDR from WL is the boat that goes between Ft. Wilderness, CR, and WL. Pioneer Hall is only a minute or two walk from the boat dock. There is a path to Fort Wilderness from WL that, from what I understand, for most folks, takes 15-20 minutes to walk, some it may take longer. It is not really an evening walk. There is also the most recent option of a Minnie Van. Unlike normal rideshares, the Minnie Vans are allowed to drop off at Pioneer Hall.

There is a bus depot at that end of campground also as we use it when we go to the loops to boat dock to go to MK and we have had to do the reverse with yellow internal bus to WL when boats were stopped for some reason. We changed to a MK bus at the Lodge

That internal bus to WL doesn't run all the time though. In general, the boat does. They do run a bus to WL if it is the late showing and the boats have stopped and they pick up outside Pioneer Hall.

There is no bus to MK from front depot at the Fort. Only boat from boat dock. We did not share buses with the Lodge last summer when we were there. One day because of storms in area boats were closed we had to change internal buses near Hoop at that depot to the yellow internal bus which went to the Lodge and then change to MK bus there. This is what front desk CMs told us to do and this was at desk not calling.

I get that they had you take a bus from the Pioneer Hall to WL because of the special circumstance that the boat wasn't running. However, this is not what usually happens. Did it happen when you were there, yes, but for the sake of planning how to get to HDDR from WL, it isn't something to plan on.

We were told by same CMs that that was only way to get a bus any day to MK from the Fort as the normal way to MK was the boat not just because of weather that day. In all out trips to the Fort I have never seen a bus to MK from front bus depot so from what I have seen your plan would not work unless it is something new

Apparently there's a misunderstanding. WL often shares a bus with Ft. Wilderness for the other parks, including Epcot and DHS. You can take that bus from WL to Ft. Wilderness bus depot for the bus thats going to Epcot or DHS and then take an internal bus to Pioneer Hall. It's a very round about way to do it. Much easier to take the boat or walk or take a Minnie Van.

Edit:
Just to add, there is a bus that runs between WL and Ft. Wilderness on the connecting road, but it doesn't run all the time, from what I understand. Hence, it makes it a problem to plan for.

Last time we were there the Fort did not share a bus with the Lodge any of our trips to any of the parks. Plus on other trips when we did share bus went to Lodge first dropping off or picking up so to do what you planned you would have to go to a park then back to Lodge

They run the MK bus from the WL to the Settlement bus stop on the back road for the Hoop Dee Doo dinner hours. We found out the hard way when we were trying to get to MK from WL and found out that we had to go to FW first. This has been the pattern for a while now - more than a year in fact.

It is also a very lovely twenty minute walk from WL to FW. :)
