We had our adults only anniversary trip all planed out , 3 days at AKL and 4 at POR (one of my favorites!). Now, DH is saying he wants to stay somewhere different...what??.. The AKL portion is paid for and I cannot cancel it, so, that leaves the remaining 4 days. I suggested the Poly (my favorite), but, we have stayed there before, so, DH said to keep looking  I thought abot CR, but, with all the renovations going on, plus, we already live in the city and the CR seems to be very busy. I want to get away from it all while on vacation (look at my favorites). So, this is how we are ending up at the Wilderness Lodge. I had never considered the WL before, so, I have not done any research and have no idea what to expect. Please, tell me all about it!! We will be spending most of our time at the MK and Epcot. I know about the boat to the MK, but, what about Epcot?? Is the bus a nightmare?? Do we stop to pick up guests at other resorts? Would you recomend the WL to celebrate an anniversary without kids? Would you stay at courtyard view or stay in a woods view? I know the courtyard is most expensive, but, which is more romantic? :love2: What about concierge? is it worth it at the WL, I have read great reviews for about AKL CL and Poly CL, but, I really have no idea what it's like at WL.and to those who have done it all.. Which in your opinion has a better transportation ?? Would you say that the WL has better transportation to Epcot than the Epcot resorts have to the MK? We could also stay at the Yatch club!! I know, I have to make up my mind soon!!

Plssssss help!!! :wave2:

We just stayed at the Wildernes Lodge in a concierge room last month and LOVED the resort :) I have pictures on my web site, click the "family vacations" link below, then scroll down a little to the Wilderness Lodge picture. Click on it, and that will take you to the pics :)

We found the boats and buses from WL to be very good. Never waited long for a boat to MK, or bus to anywhere. I highly recommend the Wilderness Lodge :sunny:

P.S. We split our stay between the WL concierge and Polynesian lagoon view concierge, and loved both resorts. I have pictures and comments from both places on my site :)

When they first opened WL I said I wanted to stay there and for some reason(which I cant remember) I said I didnt. We stayed there June 2004 and fell in love!!!!! This place is gorgous from the lobby to the courtyard. Theming is wonderful! This is such a great place to stay. We liked taking the boat to MK and the Contempory. Loved the wildlife! Renting the boats. Whispering canyon is a blast!!!! The Electrical Water pagent. You will not regret staying here.

I never thought I would say this, but, we are now excited to stay there!! DH was right, it was time we tried a different resort. SeaSpray I really enjoyed your pictures and are looking foward to the WL even more.

puplern, I forgot about the Electrical water parade.. I love it!! Do you know if I request a view of bay lake, will we be able to see it from our balcony?

Thanks!!

WL here we come!! :goodvibes

these pictures of the WL are great! we just got back yesterday and i miss it. We stayed in 1156 which was a poolside room facing the smaller pool. it was great. walked out the door and there was the pool. Looking into POR next to save some money. i will miss this place though. i made my husband promise we could come back some day!

Nice pics of the WL.. I can't wait to go... I have a question... You're saying that now the concierge offerings are going to be in a seperate room, not in the hallway anymore? Did they say when that will be completed?

SeaSpray's pictures say it all!!! The WL is magnificent. You really do have your breath taken away when you enter the lobby for the first time. Book the WL-your hubby will LOVE :lovestruc the Lodge!

Always wanted to stay at wilderness lodge, We got to stay there in 2002 and I'm happy to say we're going back Dec 2005. You will fall in love with this resort.

It opened right after we left! lol It's all open now :)

My DH wanted to try a resort that we hadn't tried before and picked the WL. Now it's my favorite! We're the outdoorsy type so the theming is perfect for us. I was leary at first because I was worried about the transportation (I mean, really, couldn't they have connected it to the monorail somehow...), but I worried for nothing. We've stayed there twice and the bus service has been fine both times. I think the boat to MK takes too long, but it's a nice ride. I love the little boat that runs between the WL and CR (separate from the MK boat). We've hopped on that boat a few times and gone to CR to hop on the monorail.

I'm not sure what time of year you're going, but if it's a rather slow time of year you might have a good chance of being upgraded to courtyard view is you ask the CM checking you in really nicely. This happened to us on our second stay. I had booked standard view and we were upgraded to courtyard (at no additional cost).

It's just such a BEAUTIFUL resort. I don't think you'll be disappointed AT ALL (unless you hate anything to do with outdoorsy stuff... ;) )

Well, I booked the WL courtyard view room :cool1: We are both very excited and looking foward to our stay. Thank you for the pictures, the video and the fantastic reviews. Now, I'm off to the WL thread to continue my research LOL  .... thanks!!!
