Well the day we all dread, checkout day. Girls sleep in as I do my early morning thing at the lodge. They are finally up and moving and we grab a bite at RF and then up to the room to pack and checkout. Load the car and off to AK.
We are in AK around 10:15 so we head to the Festival of the Lion King show and wondering if it had really restarted, as there was hardly anyone there and the show was due in 15 minutes when we arrived. It was and we had front row seats and we always enjoy the show. The theater showed a major face lift, but we could not detect any changes in the show itself.
Then off to Kilimanjaro Safaris and noticed buses leaving with empty seats, and in 5 minutes we were on our way. It is apparent the animals are enjoying the brief cool spell we are having as there were many more to see then when we were here in July.
We take a snack break and then catch It's Tough To Be a Bug, still a very cute show. Then off to catch Pocahontas and Her Forest Friends. We spent a good deal of time in Africa walking the trails and then to Dinoland. We hit our first crowds in Restaurantosaurus, it seems everyone got hungry at the same time. We decided this place is off our list and wished we had walked back to Raintree. It was a Pig Pen and 3 CMs standing around like their only thought was quitting time.
We then spend time on more trails and gift shops, we then head for the parade route and stop at the fruit stand for some cold fruit and the sounds of the parade coming to life, so we stand right there and watch it with not more then a few dozen people around us. The line were no more then two deep in that area. After the parade is over we work our way to the exit hitting the gift shops and giving the crowd a chance to clear out. This pretty well completed AK for us with what we did not get to do in July due to huge crowds and heat.
Then on the Tram and home with my brain in overdrive, how and when to come back.
