WL - Scooter on Boat question

OK. I posted this question on a couple of other threads and haven't gotten and answer.

I have badly sprained my ankle and we got to Disney in two weeks. I have rented a scooter for our week long trip since I can't walk but a few steps at a time. We are staying at WLV and I was wondering if they allow you to bring your scooter on the boats that go back and forth to WL and MK.

Let me know the answer if anyone has it !!

They have 2 different types of boats that go from WL to MK. There is one that will allow you to use your scooter and one that will not. It's not too long of a wait for either one. I think they alternate. We did this in December when my son was still asleep and we didn't want to have to transfer him from his stroller. Just be sure to ask the captain that gets off the small boat to make sure they are running both.

Motor Cruisers are large boats that go to and from resorts at MK are usually accessible, but may not be if the water level is very high or very low (which doesn't happen often).
Boat captains have some interesting ways to overcome this if the difference is not too large. We have been on boats where all the other passengers were unloaded first; the almost empty boat floated higher in the water. That made the distance close enough that a small portable ramp could be used to get off the boat.
If there is too much difference in water level between the dock and boat, wheelchairs and ECVs can't be driven on. They do provide alternate ways to get the the parks if this happens.

I have rode many times. Once the captain had everyone move to one side of the boat to level it out. Drove my ECV right on

just look for the larger boat, just back from staying at the Fort which also uses the larger boats. had a number of scooters on the boats and also a number waiting for the Lodge while we waited for our boat.

I LOVE DISNEY! and this is just one reason why. Most of the time they do whatever they can to accommodate their visitors. I'm thinking non Disney parks would not be so willing to help in situations like this.

Just in case you visit Hollywood Studios/EPCOT, their boats also allow the ECVs, I've taken that one many times. I don't think there is a better place in the world to have an ECV than WDW! Have a great time.
