WL Refrigerators Free or Not??

Happy Saturday to All!

I had read somewhere that refrigerators are free at deluxe hotels - I think

So I reserved the fridge and the modified reservation says there will be a charge of $10 per day. Now I am reading somewhere that if I wait until check in and THEN request the fridge I can get one for no charge (if there is one available).

Is this correct? Please help set me straight!!

The fridges at the moderate and deluxe hotels are free but they aren't in every room yet.

I would remove the fridge from your reservation and simply tell them at check-in that you would like a fridge in your room.

Same vote here. You can always request one when you get there. There is no charge in Moderate and Deluxe resorts for these now.

I requested one at time I made ressie, my paperwork showed that there'd be the $10 charge. I was never charged for it though.

Ditto - Ordered it with my ressie and was never charged for it. We got one for each of our three rooms. Leave it as is and just ask when you check in.

I agree. I asked for one when I made my ressie. It said there would be a charge. but when I got there they said no charge.

If there isn't fridge in your room, call housekeeping. They will send one up.

Just got back last night from WDW. We did a split stay (WL and AKL). I called CRO about a week before leaving to verify that my room requests and requests for coffee maker and refridgerators were documented on my ressies. They verified that they were-for both hotels. I got the views and coffee pots, but no fridge in WL> I immediately called downstairs and was told they did not have any available at that time, but I would receive one as soon as one became available. Well four days later, I still hadn't received it, although to be fair I also did not call back to ask for it again. When we checked into the AKL, the fridge was already in the room--no charge.

The free fridges and coffemakers are LONG overdue. I could never believe the amount we paid for a deluxe WDW resort (even with codes) which lacked those basic amenities (esp. the coffee makers). It is odd that you a charge appaears o your bill if you request one in advance, but good thaqt you don't have to pay it. Still, I think I'll wait til we get the the WL and ask for one to be sent up, just to be safe.
