We recently returned from AKL and loved it. My DD (7) and DS (4) especially loved the large AKL pool, zero depth entry and slide. We toured WL during our visit and loved it. I am considering booking it for our next trip but the pool looked small in comparison to AKL. Can anyone who stayed at WL please advise me if the pool size is adequate and if your children liked it. Also, we really liked the fast food restaurant (Mara) at AKL. How is WL's fast food restaurant. I couldn't find a menu for it on the usual websites. Thanks very much for any input>:bounce:

The pool at WL is great.
It doesnt have zero entry but its size is good.
My children have always loved it, espcially the slide and the area where the waterfall enters to pool. They like trying to swim against the current.
Roaring Fork has the usual hot dogs, hamburgers snacks etc. We have always enjoyed the food.
If you go on www.wdwig.com thye have a menu for Roaring Forks in the Dining Guide.

It's a nice pool. Not my favorite. I love the zero entry pools. Swimming against the current is fun though. :)

WE ALSO JUST STAYED AT AKl and loved the zero enrty pool, We are going in may and staying part of our trip at Wilderness Lodge.I am torn as I loved Akl so much, but his was a choice as I wanted the ease of the Magic Kingdom launch with the stroller. we go again in December and this trip will decide if we go Back to Akl again, We probably will. My kids each choose a property and by then it will be the twins choice, and that would be Akl>>>

Thanks for the feedback! I'd appreciate any more feedback on the pool. Is there a separate pool for DVC guests in the Villas? Are WL lodge guests able to use it?

Our daughters (7 and 4) loved the pool. They continuosly did the slide. It was a big enough pool not to be too crowded, good bar, 2 hot tubs and a good sized kiddie pool, afternoon games by the rec staff (beach kickball for the kids), free towel use, both girls got their hair wrapped there and were so proud of it. The waterfall coming into the pool at the deaper end is neat. I really liked the pool. It was more enjoyable to me than Typhoon Lagoon.
