Our kids want AKL - bunk beds, animal views.
We want Poly - monorail, love Ohana's, boats to rent

Both have great pools.

If we could swing 2 weeks- do the last week of June at AKL
before the crowds get to WDW.
Then do Poly the following week - 4th of July week
when the crowds build up at WDW.
2nd week we could do boating at the Poly, use the monorail
for transportation, eat at Ohana's, boat to HDD, do a fireworks
cruise....

Do you think it would be a good plan ?

How to switch the luggage ?
Can we check in at the Poly in the AM ?
Do you think a room would be available ?
What if we have WDW florist flower arrangement ?
Could it be moved without a problem ?

Any suggestions are welcome :)

Thanks :teeth:

bell service will move everything not a problem.

call them the night before tell them where you want your luggage moved too - also leave a note on the luggage (along with a tip).

call them again the next morning. then go to the Polyn and check in. then go to the parks. If your room is not ready - You will be given at check in a card with the front desk phone number on it - you don't have to come back to the front desk just call that phone. You are calling to see when your room is ready. When it is ready you will give your room number over the phone.

may sure that you have everything you might need for that day - medicines, swimming suits, sunscreen, etc. You might not get your luggage until 3:00pm (check in time).

I am assuming you are getting express check out and won't need to return to the front desk to check out.

Thanks for the suggestion. We thought a taxi may be faster to move to the Poly. We would know our luggage would get there. I assume the Poly can hold our luggage till our room is ready.

We do not mind wasting an hour in the early AM.
We would do it on a MGM early entry morning (Sat).
Do you think a Saturday is a good check in day ?
Or would a Friday be better (AK early entry day) ?

Thanks ! :)

I am the designated resort switcher in our family. The way that I handle it is that I get up fairly early (6 am) and go to the next hotel to check in. Once that is handled we can decide on how best to handle the rest of the day. Oh, and being there early has, more often than not, resulted in our room being ready WAY before normal check-in time. We'll be in five different hotels over two weeks this trip!

Good luck with your planning!!!

On our last trip (9 nites), we switched resorts for the first time (BC and Poly). This year's trip (6 nites) will find us switching again. This time WL and Poly. It was so much fun last year. We got the feeling that we had two vacations and didn't have that "I'm sick of this room, ready to go home" feeling at all. We may be pushing it with only 3 days at each resort this year, but it's giving us a chance to try WL, which we haven't done before.

We transferred our own luggage, because we had medicine in it that we didn't want to lug around all day, but wanted to be sure it would be at the resort when we got there in the afternoon. We checked in early, before going to the parks, and got the area of the resort we requested. I think checking in early helped in this respect. Our room wasn't ready until afternoon, but we were gone to Sea World all day anyway.

Bell services at the new resort took our luggage (including grocery bags) and we got them delivered to the room within 15 minutes of arriving in our room. It was great! Have fun!

We're also switching hotels: 4 nights at WL (12/3-12/7), then 4 nights at Poly GVC (12/7-12/11)...anyway, I bough MVMCP tickets for the night we're switching, so I don't want to use 1 of our park hopper passes that day-do you think we will be able to get in to the Poly early? Also, how much is it to get a taxi from the WL to the Poly?

Thanks!!:)
