Trying to decide between Wilderness Lodge or CBR for a one week trip in August. Taking all things into consideration (location, bus transportation, pools, room size, etc, - which one would you pick?

The WL has queen beds, the CBR has doubles. WL has interior hallways. The WL has a quick boat trip to the MK. I believe the WL has more venues to eat, too (Roaring Forks, Artist Point, Whispering Canyon). However, the WL will be more expensive.

WL is the way to go if cost isn't a factor. The theming at WL is fantasitic one of the best at WDW. The location on bay lake can't be beat for relaxing. WL is in a different league than CBR. CBR is considered a moderate resort and WL is considered a delux. According to many on these boards WL is one of the best resorts at WDW. Much better dinning options at WL. The main thing with WL is the atmosphere, you feel you are at a resort. CBR you feel like your staying at a hotel.
If cost is a factor the CBR is nice. I stayed there on our first trip to WDW and had a great time.

How about splitting the stay??

We actually are splitting our stay 3 days at WL and 4 days at CBR....gives us a chance to experience both and with a decent amount of time at each....just a thought :wave2:

Co-workers of mine suggested that DH and I check out WL - they love this resort and have been a few times. As you can see, we are stuck on CBR. When we watched the newest Disney video, we decided to switch back from our initial reservation of WL to CBR and we are happy as can be. We are also going with my in-laws and they were not too impressed with what they saw of WL. Don't get me wrong - from what I have heard, it is beautiful. It is just that it comes down to theming - do you want caribbean or do you want pacific northwest and we choose the latter. Perhaps you should go with Minky's suggestion and split your stay - let us know what you decide - good luck:)

I agree it comes down to theming and theming alone...do you want a tropical island atmosphere or the feel of national parks of the western U.S.?

They are so different. Personally, I love CBR. I've seen WL and I think it would also be nice for a stay in the winter time maybe.

CBR is gorgeous and very spread out. I don't mind walking so this isn't a drawback to me. It's very colorful and has an upbeat tropical atmosphere. If the islands are your thing, you'll love CBR.

Maybe you should take a look at pictures of both resorts and decide which one you like the feel of. Try allearsnet.com for resort pictures or ourlaughingplace.com. You can get a very good feel for each resort at these sites.
