Ok, I first looked at the Wilderness lodge a couple of months ago and put that I have 2 kids, ages 2 & 7 and 3 adults (dh and I and my mom). I got a rate so I knew it was available and could accommodate us.

My daughter just turned 3, but when I put that in, the Wilderness lodge doesn't come up as an option for us anymore. My mom is going to sleep with the 2 kids in one bed and dh and I in another. I didnt' buy our park tickets yet and we're doing room only (no dining plan) so I called to reserve and just listed dh & I and my 2 kids (3 & 7) and we are getting Magical Express 1 way (from the airport to WL) and not on the return trip because we will be returning from Universal's Hard Rock. So, now what do I do about getting my mom to the hotel if I don't have her listed in my room? Can I pay extra for her to have magical express transportation with us or do I have to put her (and her luggage) on a Mears shuttle?

Am I doing something wrong by saying we have 4 in the room? Last month, when my daughter was still 2 and the same size she would have been allowed on the reservation. What should I do?

TIA

wl only allows 4 in a room
and ages are based on WHEN you travel
at many of the other resorts its 5 plus a child in a crib
not at the WL
you cant do 4 plus a crib thereIf shes notlisted on your ressie she cant take ME with you
Your daugther will be 3 when you travel so you guys wont fit in that room
thats why disneys site isnt allowing it

eta it looks like you will need a bigger room I know the wl has a deluxe room
I would look into that
if not you will have to stay somewhere else
sorry

Just don't put her on the list.

Ask for a crib / pack n play or you will have to have an adult and 2 kids sleep in a bed. that may get cramped.

You can get away with her not having a ticket, but if you get guilty, buy her a ticket at the gate.

According to Disney's rules you can only have 4 people and one child under age 3 in a pack-n-play in a room at the Wilderness Lodge. If your child is now 3, you will not be allowed to have 5 people in the room. You also need to have everyone in that room listed on the reservation. This is for the safety and security of all the guests. You can see if they have a Deluxe room available for you or you will need to get 2 rooms if you want to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I do not recommend trying to "sneak" your Mom in.

Well, I don't have a problem with 5 of us in the room because a month ago when my daughter was 2, she was the same size and weight and the sleeping arrangements would have been exactly the same. I will buy her a ticket to the parks, I'm not trying to be sneaky.

There are no deluxe or bigger rooms available. I wonder if I can simply cancel the reservation and re-reserve saying my daughter is still 2 and include my mom. I don't remember anyone asking for her birth certificate. My only real problem is magical express - does anyone know if I can pay for her transportation on Magical Express? Otherwise I guess she'll take the Mears transport.

you may not trying to be sneaky but its wrong
there are fire codes and rules for a reason
good luck :)

Well, if it made sense, I would certainly abide by it but since it would have been okay for fire rules just 45 days earlier when my daughter was the same height and weight, that just doesn't make any sense to me! So, I'm sure I'll be able to live with my conscience. I'm not trying to save money, there aren't any bigger rooms available. I'd like to give Disney my money and stay at their Deluxe.

Anyway, my question wasn't really pertaining to how ethical or unethical it was or safe, it was merely about paying for an extra person on Magical Express.

your right thats not your question and we all have to be able to handle our own actions you asked why it wasnt giving you availability
because theres to many of you to stay there
how would you feel if you were asked to leave because a CM or mousekeeper saw there were 2 many in your room?
it could ruin your vacation and while its slim that it would happen its still a risk
just stay at a different deluxe or try dvc
peace of mid is worth its weight in gold

I also wanted to say that my SIL had a much smaller room in POR last year and had 6 people in there ALL ACCOUNTED for by Disney and acceptable. She had a 6 month old in a crib, herself and her dh, 2 kids, and her mother on the trundle. What makes that more acceptable? Must be fire safe because of the trundle? Crazy!

Well I guess I just wanted the answer to make sense and not be because Disney doesn't want us to be their guests. I could simply make my daughter's 3rd birthday the week after our stay and that would be legit according to them! There wasn't another deluxe available the week of our stay, that's why we are doing WL. With all of the guests Disney has, I can't imagine them doing a "room check" on us in the middle of the night to see how many people we have sleeping there! When my SIL stayed at POR with her family of 6, she even had relatives visit her in the room for a few hours (not overnight) so if Disney stopped by would they get thrown out? Of course not!

I do not believe you can pay for an extra person on ME. The way I understand it, the number of people on the reservation is the number of people eligible for ME.

Your trying to justify what you are doing
what you are doing is wrong
good luck with your vacation
i think ill bow out now

yes thats 5 people plus an infant in a crib
thats allowed there i believe

Yes, it is allowed but it's a smaller room and how does the trundle bed make it safer or better for the fire code? The room occupancy limit at WL with 5 being okay if the child hasn't hit their 3rd birthday yet, just doesn't sound that fair to me, I guess that is why I don't have a problem with it.

BTW, my friend just returned from 9 days at WL with her mom and her 2 kids. Her daughter turned 3 just 2 days after they returned and her and my daughter are exactly one month apart in age (my daughter is older) but her daughter is 5 lbs heavier and 4 inches taller than my daughter. When they play together everyone thinks her daughter is a year older than mine. My daughter will be much smaller in the same room. I don't have a problem with that.

The rooms at WL are really small, I was surprised at that when I stayed there.

I guess I'll have to repent for my terrible sins after my trip and beg Disney's forgiveness for letting me pay them $350 a night to have the priviledge of staying with them! I think I'll be able to live with myself and honestly, I'm a very HONEST person. I think I'll still be a good person if I fudge my daughter's age by a month to make us fit in the rules.

I just solved my ME problem. I booked us a round trip towncar with a free grocery stop! Yeah!

You may be a good person you may be able to live with yourself and it may not be a BIG deal BUT

AN HONEST PERSON DOESN'T LIE ABOUT AN AGE in order to qualify for age based discounts/rates.

Another issue you may have is that Disney charges an extra fee for over two adults in a room--I believe it's $15/night (???)--could be wrong about that though. So on the off chance that they'd happen to notice you have THREE adults staying with you, they could go back, check your ressie....and notice Grandma's not on the ressie.

Also I'm confused by something--you already made the reservation and said your kids are 3 and 7...now you're saying you're going to call them back and change your daughters age on the reservation?? Don't you think they'll think that's just a bit suspicious?

Personally, I would try to find accomodations (even if you have to go off-site) that will fit everyone in "legally". The stress of worrying about being "busted" on vacation for me wouldn't be worth it.

What you are asking everyone is why can't you do what you want too do.

Disney has prices for each room and the number of guest that may stay in the room for that price.

At the Deluxe Resorts there is an additional charge for more then 2 adults of $25.00 a night, for each adult. Didn't you say there are three adults in your party?
