I am tentatively planning on going to WDW, December 14-21, 2002 and staying at the WL. Is this a good time to go? What kinda crowds should i anticipate? Also, what view should i get for my room, Woods or court?

get the woods view. then a few days fax over your room request, asking for the top floor of the north wing. you should get a great view of the mk fireworks from there!

You absolutely will not regret staying at WL in Dec. WL and GF are both decorated beautifully for Christmas. We were at WDW in 2001 from Dec 15-22. The crowds were not bad until the 21st. We did have a cold front come in and the temp went down to 28 and night a couple of times and did not get out of the 40's a couple of days. The first 2 days it was in the 70's. When you are at WL, take time to do the Lodge tour and sit in front of the fireplace in one of the rocking chairs.

As stated above, the WL is decked out beautifully in Christmas decorations that will just take your breath away. Since you are going before Christmas week, you should not have a problem with crowds.

As far as the view, I prefer the courtyard. From our balcony we could see the pool, stream, geyser, and lake. At night you could see and hear the Electrical Water Pageant show right from your deck. You can also hear the nice soft piped in hotel music if you sitting on your deck that along with the sound of the water flowing just relaxes you so much!

I've been shortly before Christmas the past two years. We stayed at the WL Dec. 16-20, 2000 and at the AKL and Poly Dec. 16-21, 2001. The WL is really beautiful at Christmas. The tree in the lobby is HUGE and really cutely decorated. Plus, the cozy atmosphere is really nice at that time of year. The crowds were not bad at all, it is a very nice time of year to go. However, do make sure to pack warm clothes (it does get cold at night), even if the forecast is for warm days only. In my opinion the best decorated resorts at Christmas are the WL, AKL, and GF. They are all very nicely decorated. Enjoy your trip! :)

You will love WL in December!

As to crowds the end of your stay will be more crowded than the beginning. Weekends are more crowded than weekdays. Seemed like crowds were lighter at MK on MVMCP days - be sure to do MVMCP while you are there.

Also, don't miss candlelight Processional at Epcot and Osborne Lights at MGM.

I would go with a courtyard view. I stayed there once with that view and it was so nice. Especially if you like to "people watch".
